3DS games I want to see remade on the Switch

3DS games that should make the Switch

Nintendo

As I've already mentioned before, Wii U ports on the Switch are a divided opinion thing. You either love them or you hate them and like I mentioned I am in between. That said, how about 3DS games on the Switch? The 3DS is what kept Nintendo afloat when the Wii U wasn't selling, so naturally it has a ton of great games on it.

Nintendo intends to support the 3DS for more years to come which is great because I believe both the 3DS and the Switch can coexist. However there are some games I would love to see make the jump though as it can reach a new audience. I picked these games on a number of factors like if you can emulate the same experience on a single screen as in it never relied on the touch screen too much, if the controls didn't do the game any favors, the game would be easy to port over, or if a game is simply just too good to leave on the 3DS. Here are my picks...

Metroid Samus Returns

Metroid: Samus Returns: This is the only game on this list that I haven't played yet. I have heard that the game is really amazing and one of the best games on the 3DS. Unfortunately I had to pass on it but I really want to try it. I don't know whether it heavily relies a lot on the touch screen but I can imagine it doesn't since it's a 2D sidescroller. I don't mind buying it on the 3DS but would buy it on the Switch if that was an option.

Star Fox 643D

Star Fox 643D: Let's face it, I highly doubt Nintendo will go through great lenghts to port over and fix Star Fox 0 on the Switch. However why not just bring over Star Fox 643D over and call it Star Fox 64 Switch? I still think SF643D is the definitive version of the game. It was everything you loved about the original SF64 but better in many ways. It can be a perfect game to introduce SF to newcomers and what better way than a remake of the best Star Fox game in the series? The only thing it lacked was an online mode and I would love to see that on it. Even a 4-player local mp would be good too.

Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon

Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon: A sequel to the underrated cult classic. I am personally a fan of the original more, Dark Moon isn't as good as the original but it does its own thing. Dark Moon had more variety since you are exploring more than one mansion this time. The structure of the game reminds me a bit of MGS: Peace Walker. I think a game like this is perfect due to the portable nature of the Switch. Not only that Dark Moon had a pretty fun online mode, so if it does get a remake then hope they keep that.

MGS 3D

Metal Gear Solid 3D: I know I know, they can just port over the MGS HD Collection instead. There's a rumor about that too. But let's say that they don't? Well this port would be great to have but there are some things that they would have to drop from the 3DS verion to get this to work on the Switch. I loved MGS3 when I played the collection on the PS3 but I think this one is my favorite version. But again this is Konami we are talking about so who knows.

Super Mario 3D Land

Super Mario 3D Land: You are probably thinking that I am just adding games now huh? Well yeah. However as good as 3D World was, there is something about 3D Land that I liked a lot. It might be the fact that 3D Land is one of, if not the best portable 3D platformer out there. It's really good and I really enjoyed the levels so much. They are a good lenght and perfect for the Switch. They could port this over with 3D World as a collection if they wanted to.

A Link Between Worlds

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds: There wasn't any screenshots that would do this game justice unfortunately so I had to settle on this one. ALBW is a fantastic game and definitely my favorite Zelda 3DS game. It's just that good and a game everyone should play, so it would be a shame to leave it behind on the 3DS. The only thing I can see it will lose with that transition is the streetpass and the amazing 3D effect. But the game would be largely the same so it shouldn't matter.

Kirby Planet Robobot

Kirby: Planet Robobot/Triple Deluxe: I really loved Star Allies. It was such a fun game but I felt that it was too short. It's going to be a while till we see the next Kirby game so why not remake these instead? I really liked Trople Deluxe but I loved Robobot the most. I felt that it was pretty ambitious for a Kirby game. They can release these as part of a collection.

Kid Icarus Uprising

Kid Icarus Uprising: This is probably my most wanted game that I want on the Switch. I love this game so much that it's on my top 10 3DS games. The game itself was amazing and the story was really good too. The majoy complaint everyone had was the controls. I got used to them quick but due to not having dual analog on the original 3DS, you had to use the touch screen for aiming and the camera controls. Even the Circle Pad Pro didn't fix this issue. I feel that dual analog control could make this game close to perfect, in fact the Splatoon controls could be perfect for it. Move with one of the analogs, have the camera on the other one, and aim with the gyro controls. But also give you an option to use dual analogs instead. And leave the online as well. This game deserves another chance since I doubt we will ever see a sequel anytime soon.

Honorable Mention:

Tri Force Heroes

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes: I haven't played it but I did try out the demo for it once and thought it was really fun. It's basically like Four Swords, but with 3 Links instead of 4. I really loved the online co-op aspect of it and I think that would be a perfect fit for the Switch. You can either team up locally or online.

And those are all the 3DS games I want to see remade on the Switch. Are there any that you want to see? This is just another of my E3 post so expect another one soon. Thanks for reading and later.

I love the 3DS, but I can't think of too many games I'd replay on the Switch.  Maybe Samus Returns, or Link Between Worlds.  A multiplayer Zelda title like Tri-Force Heroes would be neat, if only I had more people around to play it with.  The two main 3DS Kirby games are certainly better than Star Allies, but I still liked Star Allies a lot.  I think I may be the only person who did not like Kid Icarus: Uprising, though.

I'd actually rather they put the 3DS version of MGS3 on Switch since it had 4's control scheme. Kid Icarus would be great too with analog or gyro controls, but a sequel that allows more options on foot might be better.

I never owned a 3DS, so I'd love everything to get ported to Switch, but ... who knows if I'll ever buy a Switch.

Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon would be great. I hear they are remastering the first Luigi's Mansion for Switch. I hope that rumor's true.

I would definitely play samus returns on switch. The controls on 3ds kill my hands, and aiming is really awkward so hopefully they'd let you change some things.

I haven't played a Luigis mansion game, so I'd also love this on switch. I've already played a lot of Link Between Worlds, so I probably wouldn't repurchase it, but it would fit wonderfully.

Personally, I'd like some ds titles like the casltevania games. The 3ds shin megami tensei games would also be great. I'd also like a port of the etrian odyssey games, or a new game in the aeries. Animal crossing new leaf (or a new entry to the series) would be great too!

Personally, I'd love a 3D mario maker. not a port I know but I can dream.
