Well its been a while and I don't really have an excuse other than I just been feeling lazy. I just noticed my last post was way back in September.lol  Anyway, so lets get this blog rolling.

My conflicted feelings toward Destiny have not stopped me from playing the everloving crap out of it. I took a short break to play Borderlands TPS, which was a little bit disappointing too but I will get to that. The problem with Destiny is that it is really lacking dept. Some major tweeks were made this week with the latest update to get ready for the new dlc that is going to even further effect major changes to the game. Most of them good from what I can see, at the very least it will make the game a little less grindy, and any new missions or story continuation are way over due.

Borderlands TPS is not a bad game, but it feels a bit thin and short compared to Borderlands 2. Its also glitchy as hell and not very balanced in some ways, but so was BL2 in the beginning before they patched it. But in all fairness I have not gotten into True Vault Hunter mode yet and that is where things start to get really fun.

I have also got to put some time in to GTA5, still feels like gta but they seem to have finally got the controls right and tight, although I did accidentally jumped out of a helipcopter 3 times and die a hillarious death. I am just about to pull my first heist so it should be fun to seehow this plays out.

On the music front I have to start by highly recomending to any fellow hip hop heads the new album Beastiary by Hail Mary Mallon aka Aesop Rock & Rob Sonic. This album takes the essence and soul of golden age 80's hip hop and combines it with a modern progressive edge. The lyrics will dance in your head as these two spin colorful tales over rythmic cadences that any jazz drummer would appretiate.

Next is the latest from one of the greatest progressive rock bands in the world who are also from one of my favorite towns, Austin Tx. They Want My Soul by Spoon. These guys are typically two years ahead of themselves and at least five years ahead of everyone else. They really are that good. And no two albums sound the same, they are really fearless in the major jumps they make with each new record they make.

I also finally got a copy of The Decemberist first album Cut Outs and Castaways . This is steam punk music. Well maybe not steam punk, but think the musical equevilant of Downton Abby only much, much querkier and just a touch perverted. That is not really a fair desription either, you simply must hear it. The first track called "Lesley Ann Levine" is the first song I had ever heard by these guys and it made me seek them out. Its a very sad yet beautiful song, although not all the songs are sad and slow.

Well thats all I got, sorry for any bad spelling or other slopy writing, as usual thanks for reading. Oh and Happy holidays! If your up north stay warm, if your down south stay suprised and ready for anything.lol Laters!

With over 120 hours logged into Destiny, I cannot see an end in sight.  I thought that I was going to be able to quit when I hit level 30, but that didn't happen.  I don't know what is wrong with me, I am a fairly well rounded gamer, why can't I get back to having more variety in my gaming life?

I know! This game has a wierd addictve quality. I don't know how many hours I got into it, however many it takes to get two toons to lv27 and one to lv28 is what I got clocked so far. lol

logging into bungie.net.  There is all of your stats in one big infograph.  That is how I know that I hve spent 5+ days with the game.

It's too bad Destiny isn't all it's cracked up to be, but it must still be fun if people are playing it.

That Decemberist music sounds neat.  I like steampunk.

Destiny is a good game in its own right but it really could be so much better. But Bungie have been willing to make drastic changes without crashing the game or pissing people off so we will see.

The Decemberist are very cool. Kind of folk rock with a heavy theme of songs set in  turn of the century era 1880-1920 time periods. Not all of the songs are this way but most.

I like some of The Decemberists stuff. I know they have a recent release out there but I've only heard one track.

I didn't get past the demo of Destiny. I enjoyed what I played but new I would never get into it because it involves multiplayer gaming which I don't like.

Some one in my apartment building works at the local radio station and has left a ton of cds in the mail room for people to take and that new single was in the mix. I thought it was a whole album at first, I just saw Decemberitst and grabbed it.lol

I'm not a huge fan of multiplayer either but it can be fun and I have met some cool people, and I have ran into some assholes too, but the good mostly out weighs the bad. As badly addicted to this game as I am I'd say you dodged a bullet.lol

I'll be playing more Borderlands TPS on Sunday (it's Sunday now actually). I've got two more playable characters to check out and then try and get the very last achievements in the game so far. The first major DLC pack comes on the 14th. I have the Season Pass already, so I'll be on that right away. The game is smaller in scale than B2 but I kind of like that. I got really exhausted playing B2 earlier this year.

The Decemberists are pretty cool. I found a bunch of their albums at the library one day and listened to them all. I really liked them.

I have not even got around to checking out Jacks double yet. I didn't know the first dlc was coming out so soon. That will likely get me back into it. I played BL2 almost exclusively for 2 years so I know what you mean.lol I still really like TPS, I got to give 2k props for trying something different.

They really are an incredible band and I believe they got a new album coming out soon.

I played the doppelganger for a little while but since there isn't an achievement attached to it, I started up a gladiator soon after. Her shield skill is pretty cool.

I haven't noticed too many glitchy things in the game. There was one vault symbol that wouldn't let you "discover" it and there's the annoying thing that makes you have to respec your skills every time you enter another person's game. But the gameplay itself is pretty solid as far as I've seen.

No game breaking glitches just little annoying stuff like you mentioned. The one I get most often is chain lighting from Moxxi Vibra Pulse getting stuck, sounds like I'm traped in Nick Tesla's lab, lol.

That sounds like a fun one. I wish there was more room in the bank so I could save such weapons just for fun.

An annoying one is what I found yesterday. I couldn't get all three vault symbols on the very first location even though I "discovered" them all. Every time I selected the last one, the tally would reset to 1 of 3 and I couldn't "rediscover" the other ones. Lucky thing I learned though is that the achievement connected to challenges doesn't include the location based ones, so I'm only losing out on Badass score. Still, it's frustrating because these vault symbols are hard to find and I am DEFINITELY A BADASS finding them.
