I do remember watching that George of the Jungle cartoon, although I won't deny that it may turn out to be bad if I ever get to see it again.
Ohh Atari, how you used to be the king.....

George, George, George of the jungle has a shitty game....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH WATCH OUT FOR THIS GAME! Watch out for this...Ah screw it. Today's review. George of the Jungle and the Search For The Secret. The secret is it's bad...wait a minute that's not a secret.
Okay so this game is based off a 2000 television series that aired on Disney. Now given that at that time I was far too old to be watching Disney I have to say my knowledge of George of the Jungle rests on his two movies and that Weird Al song. Now this series is a remake of the 1960's series, which the first movie is an adaptation of, which in turn had a direct to video sequel, which in turn makes my head hurt from all the crappy adaptations.
Plot:
I couldn't be bothered this time....that's how god awful this game is. The voice acting is annoying and my idea of a good laugh isn't chimpanzees pointing at their butts.
Controls:
When, and this is very rare....you get actually get to take control of George! There are motion controls poorly implemented into George's search for mediocrity and they don't enhance anything. This I can manage with. The controls don't frustrate when trying to pull a lever or some nonsense. The real atrocity is from the developers who must think I have the attention span of sliced bread because they keep reminding me to pull the damn lever...at every lever...and...you...can't....skip...it. AHHHHHHGHHHH! *Hits a tree deliberately.
Graphics are okay for a budget title I suppose. It looks like the box art and I suppose it uses a simlar art style like the show I never watched. This game is similar to Klonoa. A 2D side scroller on a 3 dimensional plane. But the jungles you search in are just so generic and bland.
The music...oh god the music...You know that theme you love? The george of the jungle theme plays right at the title screen and it's so terrible...I can only link to you how horrible it is. Give a listen if you dare. Start at the 50 second mark...you'll see what I mean

Oh and you're probably thinking I'm forgetting something. Well yes you see this game also features bugs and glitches galore. Clearly this game had poor Quality Assurance and collision detection is terrible. Now this game is hardly difficult or challenging, but it's all too frustrating swing at an enemy as you attempt to hit them. Alos on top of this the game can cause boss battles to be unwinnable. Thank you quality assurance! You did an A-OKAY JOB!
Score: Severe head Trauma from knocking yourself into trees after playing this game/10
So what's next?
The angry video game nerd would have a field day over this...
I couldn't make it past five minutes of the 'new' cartoon, so I imagine the game must be bad, too.
It's too bad the game isn't based on the 1960's George of the Jungle. That was actually a good cartoon because it was made by Jay Ward's studios, who also did Rocky and Bullwinkle. Did you know that Jay Ward also created a lot of popular cereal characters, like Cap'n Crunch? I used to know someone who worked for Jay Ward's animation dept.
