No your rant is justified. Kanye is to artistry as fish is to mountain climbing. They should ban him from award shows completely.

I definitely understand your rage against that guy.  I wasn't impressed with that crappy "song" he performed on the Grammys.  And yes, I was offended by what West said about Beck after the show.  I mean, Beck did nothing wrong by winning a Grammy.  Plus Beyonce won 3 of them that night (if memory serves correctly)

Sadly, in this world there is no such thing as "bad publicity". Kanye clearly is a man without decency.

all I can say is I remember when Beck didn't suck.  I can't say the same for Kanye.

My Facebook feed was a mix of funny and sad that day, with people asking who Beck was and saying Beyonce should have won. Not everyone, but it was the theme of a couple posts I saw. 

He has not been as main steam as her for sure, but to people who actually really like music they know who he is even if they don't neccesarrily like him. The shallow fluff heads who are so easily amused never bother to look past what is put in their face. It really is sad. There was a similar reaction from the Bieber nuts when Esperanza Spalding beat him for best new artist at the Grammys or VMA a couple years ago. Once again Spalding out classed Bieber on every level. The Woman teaches at Julliard and holds the record for being the yougest instructor ever to teach there.

What Kanye said about Beck was insulting to everyone, he is not only far more talented than Beyonce but the one award Beck's had in years and he desides to upstage him for a woman who alreay won her share.

You know, remember during that time he did similar to those french dudes when  he lost best music vid? I was behind him on that. This? no.

Its just disrespectful. He acts like a really spoiled 6 year old child.

I like Beck and Kanye's music. This is typical rock star bullshit. It isn't new. You also posted about him so his tactics are effective, crude but effective.

Though I DEFINITELY doubt your statement of Kanye being a "talentless hack" (sorry, but the guy knows how to make music), what I do agree that what he said was pure jackassery. Of course, like asrealasitgets points out, better not give him too much attention, so hey, let's be all happy that Beck won.

You should also have seen the response of many Tumblr users when Beck won :P

I see street musicians here in New Orleans all the time who have more talent in their toe than Kanye will ever have. And as a musician, I can tell you what he does is not speacial, he knows how to sequence samples. Anyone with the right equipment and the patients can do it. And he knows it, thats why he goes on about how great he is all the time. Tell a lie enough times and people will start to believe it. 

Maybe it's just my opinion, but I think Kanye knows very well of sampling and producing and I think he does a good job at it. At the very least I haven't heard a song where he pulls a Puff Daddy and simply lift a song straight and just sings it with other verses. Let's just agree to disagree here and agree instead of him being a narcissit jackass.

You are right, it does come down to opinion in the end. I'm not trying to step on toes, I know I can be very out spoken and opinionated when it comes to music.lol

I probably knew you were in N'awlins and forgot. The history of music pulses through that town. I could feel it when I was down there for a week. Jealous. :P

I watched Kanye doing Golddigger on Ellen because the wife had it on. He looked uncomfortable in his own skin and he's a pretty dismal rapper too.

Yeah, we have a very large and active music scene here. Def one of the high points of living here. But August really sucks. lol 

I think I saw that "performace" too. I have just never been impressed by the guy. Plus I am very put off by egotistical and arrogant people. 

To me this less about music and more about the fact that this was racially motivated. The man is a racist. I know his type, I went to school with a kid like him. He has a chip on his shoulder, you can see the bitterness and hate on his face.

I didn't know Beck was still around. Shows how much I know.
