I'll have to check these out. The only one I'm familiar with on your list is JonTron. Some of my favorite gaming channels are Erika Szabo (she's been on Nerds Without Pants a few times) RetroLiberty, and TheGameChasers. I'd say AVGN, but WTF doesn't know about him lol. I hope you don't mind me plugging them.

It's friday once again and like last week let's move away from first impressions and cover a staple of Youtube: Gaming channels!
There's a lot of video game content over the site: Official sites of journalist, let's players, reviewers, animators, trailer channels and whole lot of stuff. Though of course, like a lot of Youtube, gaming channels don't scape from Sturgeon's Law. Still, the good stuff outdones the bad. For this blog, i'm covering four gaming youtubers I really like. One is very much famous, another is relatively famous, while the other two are not very obscure, but don't have the big viewership of the others. With that said, here's my recommendations:
JonTron
JonTron doesn't need much intro, since he's one of the most famous figures of gaming channels and with equally famous Egoraptor, co-creator of Game Grumps before he had to retire due to wanting to make more personal content
He talks more about games than making reviews and focuses on weird or unique games (good and bad), NES era, bootlegs and sometimes ocationally movies reviews. If you are expecting something thoughtful, then don't watch as Jon's focus is comedy more than anything, but he does an excellent job as it's the irreverent and surreal humour full of puns, cutaway gags and sudden reactions that make him hilarious. Sometimes it can get a bit grating, but for the most part Jon is entertaining and a fun presence.
Super Bunnyhop
Here's one I discovered thanks to Totalbiscuit, who linked one of his videos on a WTF is.
Bunny covers reviews, editorials on the industry and games, analysis on story aspects and sometimes a bit of let's play, both of the lol and normal kind (though mostly on his early videos). His reviews are fascinating, as he covers deeply into the mechanics and other aspects of a game and what makes them work or not, all very well narrated and good game footage. His editorials are another highlight, often looking at certain genres and problems with the industry, with a lot of good arguments and food for thought. Unless stated, he's more on the serious side and sometimes you may not agree with him, but nevertheless, he's a very interesting person to hear and I think he needs a bit more of love.
Ahoy (formely Xbox Ahoy)
Another one I discovered thanks to Totalbiscuit.
Stuart "Ahoy" Brown used to focus only on analyzing each weapons of the Call of Duty series, maybe with the odd video, but starting last year he started to branch more and it's all good for it. Aside from making interesting videos on real-life weapons as they appear on video games, he started mostly making story compilations of aspects in video games like Easter Eggs and the one above me of graphics in video games. It's very informative stuff and the guy knows very well his research. The minimalistic presentation looks very pleasant to the eyes, he uses good footage, the music is pretty relaxing and my god does he have a lovely english accent. It honestly feels like a tv show about video games due to the way it's presented. Very much another one that needs love.
Extra Credits
To finish, the other famous channel in this blog.
You wanna be a game designer? Work on the industry? Know more about game mechanics? Discover other games? Just love gaming in general? Then I really recommend Extra Credits. The guys work on the industry, so they have a lot of experience behind them and know the beneficies and problems that come along it, so they are well versed on not only how to make games or the components, but on other important aspects like marketing, culture and otherwise gaming in general. With a cartoony presentation, they also entertain the videos with images and otherwise puns and except when needed, they give a very positive look on gaming, but avoid sugarcoating the nasty aspects of gaming, in the end saying how despite it's shortcomings, games matter. It makes for a nice foil of cynical Zero Punctuation.
And that's all for it. I think I had a fifth channel here, but unfortunately my memory failed me. See you next monday.
