A New Era of Art

Great to hear from you again, 117. I would have liked to start this way back then, however, my shoulder injury pretty much derailed all of my pixlbitting for awhile there. Even the painting has been kind of low on the list of priorities. Now I'm ready to sort of commit to it. ^_^

Early contender for my next painting.

I will probably post a few more drawings in a couple of days to show the people what I am capable of in other capacities.

Skylanders Giants Review

The kids who I teach absolutely love this game. This is tied with Mario for the most talked about game in all of elementary. It's a status symbol to brag about which characters that each of them have, and important to draw them on an almost daily basis. They also pretend to be these characters at the park, occasionally. So it's a pretty big deal, even if there is no substance. It is about the characters, just like pokémon.

You're definitely right on why obvious is obvious. Just like why a cliché becomes a cliché. As artists, it's tough not to poo poo them, since we want to make new ones all of the time.

Update: coping with death in the family

Hey, Michael. What a great send of to a beloved family member. We were just thinking of you with our pants off while recording a podcast. But seriously, I hope that someone writes an obituary as sweet and loving as this one is for me. What a good guy you are; hope all is well.
