Mario Kart 8 Review

Posted on 07/17/2014 at 06:16 PM | Filed Under Review

Nintendo is at it's best when it is cornered and hopefully the lagging sales of the Wii U is enough to get them pushed into a "Renaissance" era with their games. At the very least we should be getting some DLC for Mario Kart and yet that has not been announced yet other than that Mercedes car that has not released yet.

Hopefully we hear more about DLC when that hits later this Summer.

I really think they need to fuse some Diddy Kong Racing inspired mechanics into the single player. I enjoyed the silver coin challenges and the whole "Super Mario 64 in a Kart" idea.

Moon Chronicles - Episode 1: One Small Step Review

I plan on picking the whole season up once it is all released. I want to see if they will offer a bundled deal before buying one part. I'm excited to get some use out of my Circle Pad Pro XL since Kid Icarus turned out to be such a control let down.

PixlBit Presents: Sh*tty Game Review Fest 2014

I was foolish enough to think of those Gummi Bears and nearly volunteered myself for the game. With the recent DuckTales Remastered and the upcoming attention to the Rescue Rangers I could see the phenomenon pouring over into some of the 'lesser' Disney Afternoon material. It is a gold-mine of potential and the target audience is right in the swing of that nostalgia fervor.

Good luck on the bad reviews, guys!

Thanks for the feedback, Alex! It was a blast getting to do one again. I'll be sure to blow up Nick's phone badgering for another sometime in April.

Be sure to shoot us some topic ideas and your questions and we will be sure to include them on our next audible journey.

Descent Review

I would love to return to this game some time. This game to me was what Doom, Quake and Duke Nukem were to most people. It was my beloved PC FPS.

I never beat this game without cheats. It was very hard and some of the bosses were killer.

Did anyone try the Freespace spin-offs to this series?

They run the risk of the game losing relevance. The 18+ rating is coming but constantly getting delayed by their lawmakers so who knows when it will actually become available.

I would be happy with a 3D imagining of the old SNES game. That one was quite enjoyable.

Silicon Knights Cuts Staff by 75%

I have to wonder how many of those cuts are writers as Dyack always championed having in-house story writers versus outsourcing.

X-Men Destiny Review

Denis Dyack and Silicone Knights really have one good thing going for them and it is the one thing they are denying: Eternal Darkness. Funny how Dyack has expressly stated that they don't want to be viewed exclusively as 'the guys who made Eternal Darkness' yet really, that is who they are known as in my mind.

Pity they won't go back with Nintendo and work on an ED 2.
