The Games of the Turbo Grafx-16 Mini: Part 1

I will definitely be picking this up probably some time in the Fall. Some of these games are so obscure for the West, which I think is great that we can finally play them. Also great that they included so many Japan-only games (although they aren't translated into English, right?)

No one ever talks about Super Circuit. It seems to be the spiritual successor to the original, but the original doesn't hold up that well imo so that means this one doesn't hold up well either. Some of the tracks are cool though.

Yeah, you're weird lol The original MK doesn't hold up too well imo. Multiplayer can be a lot of fun, but the one player mode is sooooo hard.

Astral Chain is amazing! I was able to beat it last year, one of my favorite Switch games. The story is bizarre, but the combat is so good.

Also, how are you liking Kirby & Rainbow Curse? That's a game I've been wanting to pick up.

I really want to get Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingsom as I've heard great things about it and it looks gorgeous! Also, Pokken Tournament is a lot of fun, although it might be a little too technical for your kids.

Yeah, the spells and items were certainly a problem, resulting in some trial and error until you learned what they all did.

I actually had the NES version of this game when I was ten or so. I thought it was fine, but it couldn't compete with Tetris Attack. If I had played it when it first came out (which I couldn't because I was too young), I probably would've enjoyed it more. But you're right, the game is a bit dated now by puzzle game standards.

I've never played Shadowrun, but I've heard good things about it. Apparently the Genesis and SNES versions are different?

It is really good, I was impressed by the story, it's certainly different from most RPGs of its time.

Well, there's always the more recent Phantasy Star games, I've heard they're good, but if you want to beat one of the OG games, 4 would probably be your best bet.
