XBLA Title "Sine Mora" Being Ported to Vita

One of the best XBLA titles this year will soon go portable.

Sine Mora was one of the unexpected surprises earlier this year when it was released on the Xbox Live Arcade. It was a shoot-em-up with great presentation and a distinctive feel. Developer Grasshopper Manufacture and Publisher Digital Reality have decided to share the love and will bring the highly rated title to the PlayStation Vita via the PlayStation Network.

Lollipop Chainsaw Preview

Don't tell this cheerleader that zombies are overexposed.

Suda 51 has never produced what one would call a ‘normal’ game.  Pairing odd subject manner with hyper-stylized aesthetic in games like Killer 7, No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned, the fruits of the famed developer’s labor have struggled to find any kind of sizable audience.  Perhaps it makes sense then that Suda’s next game, Lollipop Chainsaw, while sporting a strange title and a concept that may still be considered a departure from the norm, is his most mainstream title yet.

Fatal Frame II Coming to the Wii in Europe

Another coup for Wii owners in the EU.

It’s been a long time since anyone has heard from the Fatal Frame series. The game debuted on the PlayStation 2 in 2001, and the series became a cult hit amongst horror fans. The fourth game was developed exclusively for the Wii by Grasshopper Manufacture in 2008, but was never translated from Japanese. A remake of the second game, Crimson Butterfly, is in the works for the Wii, but until now there had been no word of the game seeing a release outside of its native country.

Diabolical Pitch Review

Yet another bizarre and engaging experience from the minds that created No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned.

As with anything that comes out of Grasshopper Manufacture, Diabolical Pitch is an interesting specimen. Taking use of the Kinect, the title melds gesture-based gameplay and your traditional gallery shooter, and tops it off with a bizarre story and setting. Rather than a shot out of the park, the spotty controls make this baseball-themed game a shallow shot to the outfield.

Grasshopper Manufacture Reveals Their Latest

Killer is Dead will grace the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2013.

With the upcoming release of Lollipop Chainsaw, and the recent release of Sine Mora and Diabolical Pitch, Grasshopper Manufacture has been a busy studio. Their unique blend of camp and the bizarre has been turning heads for years now and their newest title appears to be no exception. Killer is Dead is Suda51 and Grasshopper Manufacture's latest work, and though the name seems to imply it, the title bears no relation to their past work, Killer 7.

Shadows of the Damned...2?

Despite the retail setbacks of the first game, Grasshopper wants another crack at it.

Last year’s Shadows of the Damned was well-known for two things. The Grasshopper Manufacture game was a dream collaboration of Suda 51 (No More Heroes), Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill), and Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil). It was also a colossal flop, selling a meager 24,000 copies in its first week on store shelves. Not a company to be held down by disappointing sales, it sounds like Grasshopper is eager to do another chapter in the life of Garcia F’ing Hotspur.

Sine Mora Review

Grasshopper and Digital Reality deliver a one-of-a-kind shoot-'em-up.

Sine Mora is a fascinating specimen, which should be no surprise to anyone familiar with Grasshopper Manufacture's other work. Once again, the team behind No More Heroes and Shadows of the Damned has delivered an experience that shakes up the established norms of a genre and provides a crazy, convoluted story that will have most players scratching their heads. This horizontal scrolling, bullet hell shoot-'em-up introduces a unique upgrade, special move, and timing system that drives the boss-intensive quest. While Sine Mora suffers from a few minor issues, its ingenuity and originality make it one of the best titles in the genre.
