Mortal Kombat Preview

Mortal Kombat is done messing around with its return to 2d gameplay.

After sitting in a line without moving for nearly an hour, I was about rip out some spines after getting inside the Mortal Kombat demo. Luckily, the game did all of that for me. The developer demoing the game showed us the brutal return to the franchise's roots, and its never looked better. The moves now feature a see through effect for when characters hit their opponents particularity hard. Showing bones breaking and muscles tearing through the skin, it really makes for some awesome presentation.

MotionSports Hands On Preview

Nick finally gets to try Kinect, click through to see his thoughts.

Though Microsoft is touting Kinect hard this E3, seemingly it is quite challenging to actually get some play time with the peripheral. Thankfully, we had a booth tour scheduled for Ubisoft which gave me an all-access pass to check out Motion Sports, one of the Kinect games being developed by Ubisoft.

Dead Space 2 Preview

Dead Space 2 is looking great with plenty of familiar and new faces--most of which have been dismembered.

Behind closed doors, Dead Space 2 was demoed in a room modeled after a church. Moody candles (OK, they were electric, but faint enough to be atmospheric) and other lights dimly illuminated the room. Pews lined the viewing area with a big screen ready to show the game in action. Shortly after settling into my seat, the demonstration began.

PilotWings is back!

I've been a massive fan of the PilotWings series since its inception on the SNES. As you'd expect, I've been pining for a new entry in the series for quite a while now. Well, Nintendo has delivered in spades by bringing it back on the 3DS.

de Blob 2 Hands On Preview

de Blob is back for more paintin' and liberatin'.

A couple years ago, an innovative and intriguing Wii game hit the market from THQ. de Blob was its name, and it brought some amazing music and fantastic platforming gameplay to the Wii. While the game was very good, it did suffer from some small issues, particularly with the jumping which was executed via waggling. Additionally, there was some tedium in terms of gameplay. de Blob: The Underground is a follow-up to that game, which seeks to improve the issues that were a detriment to the original.
