Bungie's passing the torch to 343 Industries
Bungie doesn't make Halo games anymore, but they have still maintained the game stats and player service records for the Halo games thus far. Well, that will change on March 31, because Bungie issued a statement today saying that all live data will now be handled by 343 Industries.

Earlier, Xbox360Achievements.org showed a list of achievements for an XBLA version of The Simpsons Arcade game. Since then PlayStationBlog.com has published an official release revealing that both it and Final Fantasy V will be free for PS Plus subscribers in February.
Yet another one bites the dust.
EA's forums went offline yesterday without any warning. Electronic Arts has revealed today that it was because the forums were hacked. However, EA has already fixed the issue and the forums are now back online. According to EA UK community manager Dan Sheridan:

Drake is capable of many superhuman acts. He can scale nigh impassable rock faces, he can run, gun, jump and punch – he can do all these things without exuding a single drop of sweat and with a clear conscience to boot, despite all the blood he has shed over the years. But all of this pales in comparison to what Sony is asking of him now. The legendary recording artist has now told an interviewer for Germany's Die Zeit that he is working on music for a video game. And no, its not The Beatles: Rock Band 2.
Susan Panico will no longer lead the Playstation Network in North America.
The head of the Playstation Network is no longer a part of Sony Computer Entertainment of America (SCEA). Susan Panico became a part of the company in 1994, and was promoted to Senior Director of Playstation Network in February 2007.
The original MMO is going the free route.
Way back in 1997, Sony Online Entertainment released EverQuest and introduced the MMO to a mainstream market. It's been 15 years since then and a sequel has come and gone free-to-play, and now the original is following suite. Sony Online Entertainment has announced that the original Everquest is going free-to-play.
Could Monster Hunter be just what the Vita needs?
It’s hard to say that the Japanese PlayStation Vita launch has been a resounding success. Slow sales have many gamers proclaiming the handheld’s demise even before it is launched in North America and Europe next month. Even with near abysmal sales, PlayStation France CEO Philippe Cardon doesn’t believe there is anything to worry about, saying that the Japanese launch only lacked a special something that will be coming later this year: Monster Hunter.
