It's late on a Friday night so this entry will possibly be a shorter one but I wanted to touch base with podcasts: the ones I listen to on a regular basis and those few occassions in which I get to participate on one.

Recently, I've listened to some pretty lengthy episodes from the Joe Rogan Experience and The Projection Booth. The JRE recently had Henry Rollins on and I'll listen to anything with Rollins: he's intelligent and articulate and he's been living an unusual but exciting life and his interview shed some light on him that was illuminating and inspiring. Leah Remini (The King of Queens) was on a very recent episode in the wake of her book based on her life as a former Scientologist and it was also a seriously good listen about how a cult affects someone and the long, hard journey of being disillusioned and deprogrammed.

I've always enjoyed The Projection Booth and their long form discussion and interviews on all kinds of films. Their 300th episode, a 3-hour discussion of Highlander (and the series in general) was informative and entertaining. I'm kinda obssessed with the Queen songs at the moment. I'm currently listening to their 2-hour take on Andrei Tarkovsky's Stalker and it's great. I also downloaded their Muholland Drive epsiode so I'll be ready for that one.

My video game podcasts are from the usual sources: Giant Bomb, Kinda Funny, IGN and of course the Nerds Without Pants. All of the recent episodes helped me make it through a lengthy and cold work week.

Earlier tonight, I just wrapped up a 90 minute podcast epsiode of the Chuck Series Companion which is an in-depth recap of every episode of the tv-show Chuck. I was on as a guest to discuss the season 2 finale with the host and it's a personal favorite of ours It'll probably be posted on Sunday or Monday. It has its own feed but it can also be found via the Entertainment Landfill podcast feed.

My eyes are trying to close in favor of sleep so I can't hold out anymore. I'll talk more about podcasts in future blog posts.

Have a good weekend, everyone!

I listen to way too many podcasts a week. One of my favorites, and still going strong is Retronauts and they just did a long one on Wii. It was fantastic. I wouldn't consider Wii a retro console, but they touched on cultural impact it had on gaming in general and pretty great insight and research into they system, from the channels, eshop, inspiration of the wiimote, etc.

3 hour discussion of Highlander.  That's intense.

I've never gotten into podcasts EXCEPT an NPR podcast about modern composers I really like.  I've been invited to be on podcasts and stuff, but never really took the opportunity.

I used to not care for podcasts, however over the last few years I for sure have come to like them. I dont listen to them on a consistent basis at times but occasionally I will.

For me, length tends to be a factor keeping me away from podcasts. Sometimes i love it ( and the ones I've been on with you, blake, etc. Have been long), but it's often a barrier of entry. Definitely appreciate time-stamped segments.

Like Snee, I've never gotten into Podcasts. Mostly because I really have nothing other than my laptop to listen to them on, and I hate being tied to my laptop and its crummy speakers for any length of time.

I admit to being a podcast junkie. I drive for a living, so I need some radio. Plus, I've always loved radio. My friend Sean and I used to make our own radio shows on road trips via microphones and a boombox. I still have all the recordings too. I've also listened to a lot of old time radio broadcasts and comedy shows. I love the audio medium. I'm most into Idle Thumbs at the moment. Those are some smart, funny guys.

I'd like to do a podcast. My friend Mark and I should do one, but he's got a bit of a speach impediment that makes it difficult. I've been thinking of this new "broadcast" button coming to the XBO U.I. 'cause I'd like to do some streaming. They're using Beam to do it. Might be a thing.
