I hope everyone is doing good. I just finished up watching Battlestar Galactica. I really enjoyed it. I watched my first episode last week and finished it all yesterday. It was a long miniseries. After that I downloaded Gacumalee. I got ten dollars for spending 50 dollars on PSN. I didn't even realize I did. It was a nice surprise. Besides that game, I been contemplating what to play next. I have a lot of games and getting Pandora's Tower tomorrow.

Now my thing is, I have a lot of games I haven't played. There is actually only one game I didn't buy on day 1 so they been sitting on the shelves for awhile. The list is...

  • Metal Gear Revengeance
  • Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
  • Xenoblade Chronicles
  • The Last Story
  • Zack and Wiki
  • Epic Mickey
  • Sly Cooper HD Collection
  • Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
  • XCOM: Enemy Unknown
  • Gears of War: Judgement
  • Final Fantasy XIII-2

That is a lot that I still haven't touched. I don't know why I feel I need to buy so many games with so many untouched. I collect games but at the cost of spending on day 1 what I probably could have got at a lesser amount with the exception of Ki No Kuni's Wizard Edition. It is a reason why its slow finish games when I buy more than I can finish. A lot of people seem to have that problem with a pile of shame. I don't mind having it because I feel I finish games at a pretty steady pace. I am already done with Tomb Raider, Dead Space 3, and Bioshock Infinite but I also complete newer games while older games become less of a priority for me to enjoy. Don't get me wrong, I will get to them and want to. I just fine it interesting and it is also comforting to know I have something new I can play on my shelve at any time :)

  • I have so much more to say but don't know when and if I will get around it any of it. I am anxious to see what Microsoft has in store with the next Xbox. It has to blow me away because while I plan to get both, PS4 will be my most dedicated platform with continued games this year with Ni No Kuni, Sly 4, God of War Ascension, and the upcoming The Last of Us, Puppeteer, and Beyond: Two Souls. Sony never disappoints with games.
  • I really feel like my Wii U was a complete waste of money. I won't ever get rid of it but feels pointless.
  • I been commenting a lot on Gamespot. I mean a whole lot! It had been fun, especially with the fallout of Adam Orth. #dealwithit

You know, this year is incredible for games. Bioshock Infinite and Tomb Raider have been game of the year caliber in my eyes but will still have The Last of Us and Grand Theft Auto 5 which are two huge titles. This is year is ten times that of 2012! I would say 2012 was one of the worst years of gaming in a long time.

I can't speak to 2012 as good or bad year for gaming, cause I sat this generation out, but it was fun to watch Orth go down. Jackass.

Sit out a generation? There is no way I could do that. There has been too many games over this generation and this has been a long one.  Actually what do you mean when you been playing this generation's games or are you talking about the year 2012 in particular?

I was in college and being paid mostly in room and board 2008-2012, and had other things needing my attention when the current crop of consoles were released.

Time and money constraints kept me from buying any new consoles, newest I own is DS, and not re-entering the market until some things fall into place for me, like a steady job.

I stopped buying games on day one years ago. I find that if a game is any good it will still be good a year from release and still enjoyable, like a good book, show or movie you discover. You have a lot of long games on your list. I'm still playing through Xenoblade.I've been playing wiiU alot more since buying Monster Hunter 3, it does lack a games library though. I've been meaning to get into Battlestar, but I'm currently watching Farscape again and then started up Stargate which I never got into in the past. Now that Spartacus has ended, I've been needing to fill that TV show void, apart from Game of Thrones.

How is gamespot anyway? I kind of like IGN because they cover tv shows as well.

Yeah books never really age unlike games with technical feats and improving on proven formulas. I will still buy many games on day 1 but will control myself more. The Last of Us is an easy day 1 for me as well as many others I have pre-ordered.

I played the demo the Monster Hunter demo on the Wii U. I am not big on the series. Battlestar has a great story. It sucked me in about the third episode. It started out slow for me but was hooked after that. I haven't watched Stargate but thinking about it. I love Game of Thrones but I don't have HBO. I bought the first season on itunes and the second on blu-ray.

I love commenting on Gamestop. I think they have the best and quick response time with comments. That place is loaded with comments on stories. A lot of people went back in forth on one story of Adam Orth that it had over 16,000 comments!

If you liked BG I suggest watching BG: Blood & Chrome. It was a 9 mini-episode prequel series on youtube that I think is worth watching. It had good acting, visual effects and story. Watching the episodes from beginning to end with a pair of headphones on, it felt like watching a movie. Very good.

I will check it out. I tried to get into Caprica but it felt so kiddish. It was hard for me to take it serious.

I just beat Metal Gear Rising. It's probably my favorite game this year so far unless you count the Mass Effect 3 Citadel DLC (which I do). I still have Ni No Kuni untouched though, snagged it at $40 and plan to get to it when I have more time on my hands. Hope you have fun with those, at least April will be a slow month for you to catch up.

As for 2012, yeah, I get how most people see it as bad. But with Mass Effect 3, Pokemon Black 2, Pokemon Conquest, Mark of the Ninja and Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing Transformed I didn't think it was that bad.

Considering other years, I think its bad. Of course there will be great games, its just didn't feel anything like years past. I been more impressived or excited year over year in every case but 2012.

I sort of refuse to buy up new games day 1 and horde them. Believe me, I would if I could throw around that kind of spare change but I really can't afford it right now.

I look forward to your impressions on Last Story, Ni No Kuni, & Xenoblade. I love me some rpgs!

The only game i might get around to playing is Ni No Kuni and I don't know when that will be. I just got Pandora's Tower and that could be on the list now as well. I am currently playing Sly 4 and Guaccamalee. I want to get around to getting back into God of War: Ascension.

I have to play some of the same games.  I don't know when I'll get to them.  I started up Ni no Kuni, but I didn't get to far.  I really need to make myself play more of the game.  Once I get really started, I'll finish.

I'm picking up my copy of Pandora's Tower (Wii) and SMT: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers (3DS) tomorrow.  I rarely touch my Wii and I don't own a 3DS, so who knows when I'll get around to playing those games.

I got Pandora's Tower too. It can be added to the list.

My copy of Pandora's Tower is already collecting dust. Embarassed

You got too many games to play. I know the feeling though. Mine right now would be: Valkyria Chronicles, FFXIII-2, and a handful of PS2 games I bought on a whim for cheap.

I agree 2012 was just a poor year. It kind of worked out for me though because I was finally able to dig into many games I wanted to play.

Valkyria Chronicles. I would love to get around to finishing that game. I totally gave up on trying to play FFXIII-2. I will get FFXIII-3 maybe when its real cheap because if I didn't get to the second, why would I suddenly play the third.

I have quite the collection of unplayed games too (http://www.backloggery.com/f1r3inth3h0l3), some highlights: Dark Souls, Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2, Valkaryie Chronicles, Dues Ex:HR....too many more. I buy games for $10-$15 now, I never want to pay full price anymore.

Its hard for me to tell on there which ones you haven't played. I see what you haven't finished and its staggering. I have a huge list of unfinishe games myself but I think I do a decent enough job to get through many of them. Its hard for me to have the will power to buy games when they are old.
