On my last blog post, I posted about the return of my podcast, The Past and The Pending and posted a link. However, I switched hosting sites and forgot to update that url link so one or more of you encountered a 404 screen. The good news is that I have the new url here and a new episode was posted last week. If you're a fan of the film 2001: A Space Odyssey, you may enjoy this one.

Gaming wise, I've spent quite a bit of time on Red Dead Redemption 2 on Xbox One. I've made progress on the story (but still messing about in chapter 2) but I finally tried out the online mode last week. It helped that I had some friends to show me the ropes. Lots of shenanigans ensued.

I bought a used copy of Overwatch so I could play on Xbox as well (i'm still waiting for an opportunity to reacquire a PS4; it'll depend on when I finish off paying for other things but I suspect I'll have another one in less than 2 months). I'm level 14 and I'm still very much support class oriented (Zenyatta, Brigitte) and when there's a healer or two already, I'll switch to tank (Reinhardt or D.Va).

I also finished the story campaign for Batman Arkham Asylum remastered (part of Xbox Game Pass). It was fun to play through again but I still prefer Arkham City.

I still play Gears of War 4 Horde mode with some friends and sometimes randos.

As far as E3 announcements go, I'm most excited for Gears 5, Doom Eternal, Phantasy Star Online 2 and FF7 Remake. When I finally get a Switch, I'll be more enthusiastic about the games on that system in general.

Anyway, keeping it short and sweet. I hope life has been good for everyone here. I'll try to blog again soon.

I'll have to listen to the podcast later, but I have thoughts on viewing/reading/listening to things more than once ... in that I get where Kubrick is coming from and mostly agree, but rarely re-visit art I've finished in favor of having more new experiences.

I wish I could have played Red Dead Redemption 2, but the GameFly discs I got stopped downloading in the middle of the "Play" disc. I deleted a bunch of stuff, turned my system off and back on a good couple times, and nothing.

Arkham City is still my least favorite of the Arkham games. Yup. I know. I'm an outlier. lol

I like Red Dead, and really enjoyed it, but I got distracted by something else in Chapter 2. I hope to get back to it.

As a Genesis kid, I have a lot of fond memories of Phantasy Star, but I never played the first online game. I might check out the new one.

Red Dead 2 was pretty amazing. I played it on a rental. I got past the guided beginning and then roamed about looking at the environments, watched an old timey film, took a rowboat out to one of those steam boats, and caused a lot of mayhem on horseback. I honestly forgot there was a story to follow.
