In which Jack isn't a dull boy yet

The good news is that I still have my job. The University of Arkansas is closing all its buildings starting Monday and only essential personnel are allowed on the properties (campus police, custodians and some exceptions I'm not thinking of). So I still have to show up five days a week, sanitizing the buildings. But I am getting paid. So, it can be worse.

I'm already good at social distancing (mostly through laziness rather than "ugh, I hate people") so I've only made 2 brief visits to the grocery store. Mostly I've stayed at home. No going to church (one that I attend is able to stream services online so that'll have to do for now), no going to visit my brother, sister-in-law and my adorable nephew - who is 13 months old and is now starting to walk. At the beginning of this month, the family was together to celebrate my nephew's first birthday. Now we don't know when we'll see each other again.

Without any pressing things to do on the weekend (at least those that regard me to be somewhere else), I can catch up on my sleep a lot better.

Gaming wise, it's more of the same: Animal Crossing New Leaf, Overwatch, Gears 5 multiplayer (horde/escape). Call of Duty Warzone dropped recently and I'm surprised to find out how much I actually enjoy a battle royale game, considering that Apex Legends didn't work and PUBG didn't appeal to me at all. There's Red Dead 2 online of course but I've also restarted the story mode with the aim of getting more things done, like side missions and camp upgrades. Trying to postpone the story missions. I've also been trying to tame the white Arabian horse and I keep falling off the damn thing. I've been playing the online mode for so long that I haven't mastered the taming mechanic.

Phantasy Star Online 2 beta for Xbox One is available and I've played a little of that. It's enjoyable too. Glad that I'm able to play this finally. Previously it was only the offline mode for PSO1 on the Dreamcast.

I hope everyone here is taking precautions. It's a pleasure to return to this site and read your blogs and not get mired down in how much of a clusterfuck this situation is. See you later!

As of now, I still get to work.  Since I work at a hardware store, they are considered essentials.  I'm both happy and sad that I have to work.  This whole thing scares me, though.  At least I was able to get Animal Crossing: New Horizons so that will help.

Good for you and bless your heart. Hate to be Capt. Obvious but please continue to take precautions.

The new AC can't hurt, I suspect. ;)

I was considering Phantasy Star Online 2. Not sure if I'd like it though.

I've been a PS fan since I started playing the games 15 years ago. Of course I was going to jump on it. Doesn't even matter to me that my backlog hates me more than ever.

I downloaded PSO 2 but haven't jumped in yet. I had so much fun with the first game and I doubt I'll be able to recapture that magic, but I still want to create a super short hunter with a rifle bigger than he is.

I had the first PSO for the Dreamcast and was only able to play it offline. Looking forward to seeing how the sequel works with a stable online infrastructure, for lack of a better term. Visuals and music wise, it's very much a PSO game.

I'm a health care worker. Not only am I still working, my job is crazier than ever. As I write this, I have eight hours left of my shift. Come 8 am, I'm off for a whole week, then back to the grind next Monday.

Thank you and your co-workers for everything you do. I can't imagine how crazy it is. Enjoy your week off!
