Hello again. I haven't been too active in the last 2 weeks. I'm now into the last week of the school year (of the campus where I work) and when that's over, I won't have to work nights and I can game and sleep like everyone else. In theory.

Plants Vs Zombies Vita

And these work nights have impeded my gaming activity so I've had to find smaller games to fufill that 2-3-minute session for breaks and I save the big platform/console activity for the weekends. Up until a few nights ago I was playing the Vita version of Plants Vs Zombies. It's been a very enjoyable port and not so much of a sludge compared to the iOS version. I'm about 6-7 trophies from unlocking Platinum but I've reached a point where I'm sick of the game. I've bought all of the store items, filled up my Zen Gardens, played through the adventure mode twice, unlocked most of the mini-games.....I reall feel as though I've gone as far as I can. That being said, I'm interested in what the sequel will bring, whenever it arrives.

On the console homefront, I've put aside Batman Arkham City (before you scream at me, I was only mere minutes into the story mode) because Gamefly sent in Far Cry 3.

I don't care about shooting them in the back as long as they draw first blood.

So far, it's been a blast and these open-world/sandbox games always hook me. It looks terrific, the sound design is great and I'm fine with the combat and the exploration (driving kinda sucks, I've never been too good in the first person perspective). The most satisfying element here for me is how you can solve problems or finish missions by using more than one approach. When a game like Assassin's Creed III didn't implement that, it killed my interest in the game. Also, watching tigers or bears kill off your enemies is hilarious, until you have to kill them yourself.

Some posts back, I whined about leaving one of my iPods out in the sun for too long. At the very most I could hope that all that was damaged was the battery. It turns out my hopes were correct; the device will boot up normally when connected to the wall charger but as soon as I unplug it, it goes dead. Amazon has a good deal on a replacement battery for the model so I'm going to order one or two come payday.

Other than that, not much else. I saw Iron Man 3 and Oblivion last week and enjoyed both of them (Oblivion is doomed to be overlooked for whatever stupid reason and it deserves better than that) and I plan to see Star Trek Into Darkness sometime this afternoon.

About as close to cosplay as I'll ever get. Expect a similar approach to Man of Steel.

Live long and prosper, everyone!

It truly is a game you can get lost in. It's world and mechanics are so well-designed that for me, I'll halt attention to anything else just to see if I can complete it without buying it from Gamefly (at the moment I can get it for $35).

I want to play Far Cry 3 too.  It looks like my type of game.  I've been playing Blood Dragon which is hilarious.

I hope you find more time to game.  What else is life for?!?!  Tongue Out

Haven't tried Blood Dragon yet. Hope PSN or XBLA puts it on sale someday. Sounds like all of the pop culture references and presentation would be up my alley.

Oblivion I'll have to catch on DVD, it did look pretty good, but I am stoked to see Into Darkness, although apparently once again the plot is a bit nonsensical, and it retreads certain things from the first from what I've heard. But, hey, I loved 09 Trek, and the trailers look AWESOME, so I'm sure I'll love it.

The plot was decent and while it has sensibilities of an action film, how it ends made me smile as someone who enjoys The Original Series (you'll see what I mean). Also, it's filled with series references (both film and tv): most of them clever and a couple that made my eyes roll. It's a fun time overall.
