The author could have some fair points if this was made a few years back, but I feel he doesn't see the full picture. I know it seems daunting, but nowadays that tech has advanced greatly and certain advanced hardwares start getting cheaper, it's easy to build and/or get a computer apt for gaming, and it's already posible to get a proper game running by changing it's setups. He also forgets that nowadays it's more easy to update and perhaps faster for games to update on PC than consoles, which come to my point that the big problem is the fact that consoles outside of Nintendo are trying to be computers, without understanding their posible capacities and limitations, and with the obsession in pretty detailed graphics at the cost of better fluid 60 fps gameplay, it leaves them steps-behind computers. Ever since I started to play more games at 60, I do agree it's better for games, which makes getting a PS4 or Xbone seem like a waste considering that I feel like i'm playing an inferior version limited by its setting on console rather than the variety you get on computers, which honestly it's why despite its flaws, I love my Wii U due to Nintendo and its developers understanding that we're playing a console and understanding the importance of gameplay. Seriously, Smash Bros. at 30 would feel incredibly awkward.
I haven't thankfully and will never become a "PC mustard race" guy, but nowadays i'm more inclined to have PC as my main gaming system since I really want the better gaming experience that you can't simply get most of the time on most consoles, and will probably stick to Nintendo for consoles if it means they'll be the only ones that care about a good gaming experiences. I do think that with the NX on the rise and the announcement of the upgraded PS4 and Xbone consoles, companies will finally get the idea of what console gaming means and even though I said it's bad that consoles should copy computers, I do think they can learn from them about improved option settings and the option for people on how they want to experience games. The Last of Us Remaster I feel is a small but significant acomplishment due to giving the option of players for the original high detailed graphic setting or the option of one slightly downgraded in graphics but in full 60 fps.
Man, I can't believe how long this went.
