What's it like to live in the Bible Belt?

Posted on 03/10/2013 at 08:20 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Well I wouldn't call myself an atheist, but I haven't been to church in 20 years or so.  I live in Atlanta and none of my friends go to church or are overly religious either.  Sure, there are plenty of religious people here, but we coexist pretty peacefully.  I have never even thought about it before.  I don't think most people care what you do or believe if it doesn't effect them.  Atlanta is a pretty good party city.  I do think that if you lived in some of the rural areas away from Atlanta, Augusta or Savannah it may be an issue.

Mixed Reviews: Final Fantasy XII

This was one of my favorite FF games.  I think if it wasn't a FF game, it would probably have been more universally liked.  I put over 120 hours into it, by far the most I have put in an FF game (with the exception of XI), and it never really became a chore.  I never set gambits on the character I was controlling, and found the battle system to be a lot of fun.  You are still tossing out commands to the other party members because the gambits cannot take care of everything as efficiently as you can.  I liked the political story.  Was a nice change of pace. The one thing I didn't like was the cast.  I agree, Healthier was the most interesting.  I liked Basche and Fran.  I didn't really care about anyone else.  They could have left off Vaan and Panel and it would not have effected the game.

Man, that does suck.  That girls parents are what is wrong with our country.  Violent video games aren't the problem, if is shitty parents.  Unfortunately, that girl is going to grow up and be the loud complainer lady.  If only you could have found a way to get some revenge on them with the exploding toilets.

You can find one on half.com for $20 right now.  I know it isn't $5, but it isn't $30 either.  I find a lot of good deals on ps2 games there.

You will never get to old for gaming.  It keeps you young.  I bet several years into the next generation, something will come out that you will have to get.  There will also be 5-6 other games that you would have liked to play.  At that point you will talk yourself into the next gen.

Welcome.  I look forward to reading more of your blogs.  Jrpg's are my favorite as well.  This gen was a bit lacking, but we did get several good Tales games, along with Xenoblade and The Last Story.

Your right, I feel old.  I loved the first two games.  The fmv's were awesome in their day.  I heard the more recent games were pretty crappy, so I have avoided them.  However, if they were to make a new console game, I would definitely buy it.  I would love HD remakes of the first two, but that is probably wishful thinking.

Damn, I would have to change firms.  I generally max at around 75 hours.  Fortunately, I work for a firm that is very fair.

Interesting.  I am also a bit of a geezer.  I also happen to be a CPA (and have a degree in finance).  Unfortunately, I specialize in tax which means I am currently working 70 hours a week.  Fun!
