Driver: San Francisco Hands On Preview

An impressive re-creation of San Francisco and a city full of cars to crash. What's not to like?

The creators of Driver San Francisco have digitized the city using a combination of Google Maps and their own photographs. While they did have to redesign some of the less-interesting roads, Marin County, Chinatown, the Castro district and everything in between are all there. I would've liked to have checked out the bridge but everything seemed so big and a few areas were locked that I just decided to play a few missions and mess around in free drive mode.

Twisted Metal Hands On Preview

Jason gets some hands on time with Twisted Metal, but more importantly gets the full scoop on the details of the game.

Brief hands on time with the latest build of Twisted Metal was available after the Sony press conference. During my hands on time, I learned that the game is scheduled for release in just a few short months on October 4. While I didn't have the opportunity to play much of the game, it was clear that it was a faster paced experience than what the series has offered in the past. Though brisker in pace, the game felt controllable and smooth, just as Nick reported at last year's E3.

Microsoft Unveils Kinect Fun Labs

The new permanent addition to the Xbox dashboard will be available today.

In line with the Kinect-heavy Microsoft presentation, the company announced the latest major feature and service for the Kinect, Kinect Fun Labs. The new functionality will be available starting today and will be a permanent new addition to the Xbox dashboard. During the presentation, the company showed off a few different applications of the technology and explained that it was made completely with the community tools that have been made available since the launch of the Kinect.

Nikkei Confirms Cafe Touchscreen Controller

In addition to being a controller it can be used as a portable gaming machine.

As has been rumored, Nikkei (translated by Andriasang) is now validating claims that Project Cafe will indeed feature a touch screen controller. They claim that the controller can be used specifically for its intended function or as a portable gaming machine.

Sega Officially Announces Shinobi for 3DS

Developed by Griptonite Games, the long anticipated title will arrive in stores this September.

Today, Sega officially announced Shinobi for the 3DS, in development at Griptonite Games. The game's existence was originally leaked in a resume posted on LinkedIn and again later on the cover of Nintendo Power. According to the press release, players will once again be able to experience the classic side-scrolling gameplay this September.
