What If?: Cosmic Walker for Wii U

Story, control, and gameplay ideas for a canceled game.

A few years ago, Cosmic Walker made a short blip on the Wii release radar. A brief video clip, three screen shots, a few details a few months later, and that's the last we heard about it. According to IGN, the game would've starred an astronaut who travels between space stations and the moon performing various tasks, and bore a resemblance to Endless Ocean -- and that's still all we know about it. Development was likely scrapped long ago, but why not try to imagine what it would play like on Wii U? A sandbox game in space would really rock it, man.

Sony Rebuffs New Hacker Attempt

Hackers access thousands of PSN accounts. Sony locks down compromised accounts.

Sony Chief Information Security Officer Philip Reitinger posted this morning on the Official European Sony Blog that a mass attempt at logging into thousands of PSN and SOE accounts was rebuffed last night. Suspected of culling the list from other companies, the hackers used large amounts of username-password combinations to attempt access to Sony users. 93,000 accounts appeared to be successfully accessed by using these username-password sets. In response Sony locked all of those accounts until their proper owners could confirm authenticity and reset passwords. Of those accounts, "a small fraction" had transactions on them before being locked down. Sony is reviewing all account activity and offering to assist anyone who may have had purchases made in their name.

RAGE Review

id emerges from hibernation to a FPS landscape that has changed considerably since they ruled the roost. Do they still have what it takes to dominate?

id defined the first person shooter for an entire generation of gamers.  From Wolfenstein to Doom to Quake, they pumped out standard setting shooters for years before going quiet after the 2004 release of Doom 3.  In the years since, they have worked diligently on an all new IP that slowly morphed into the finished product that we know today as Rage--a game that stays true to the aesthetic and spirit of its predecessors while borrowing a few trappings from more contemporary games.  Does it have what it takes to hold its own in a world dominated by the likes of Call of Duty, Halo, and Battlefield?  You better believe it does.

Ninja Gaiden 3 to Push Wii U Hardware

Team Ninja is working hard to push the Wii U to its limits.

At E3 earlier this year, Nintendo showed a Wii U “sizzle reel” showcasing games that were said to be in development for or would be ported to the system at some point in the future.  One of the titles shown was the highly anticipated Ninja Gaiden 3, a franchise that hasn’t seen Nintendo console release since 1995’s SNES Ninja Gaiden Trilogy.  While it was fantastic news that Ryu would be slashing through enemies on the Wii U, there hasn’t exactly been much information concerning the title since.  Actually, there’s been no information until now.
