BaD day 4: tv time.

I'm piss poor with time management. I was going to talk about that in today's blog, but I ran out of time (HA!). So I'm just going to do a quickie about one of the few things I got to do this week: watch TV.

Specifically, The Flash and Arrow, which are some of the only TV shows that I watch as they air. Simply put, I think The Flash is the best thing on TV, superhero or otherwise. I might give you South Park if you want to have that argument, but I will counter anything you say with Grant Gustin. He is simply perfect as Barry Allen, and it's so refreshing to see a superhero that isn't tormented. Barry loves having powers, and he always seems so stoked to just run.

On top of that, the fact that The Flash is unabashedly a comic book show makes me very happy. I've been shocked at how much of the source material has made its way into the show, from Gorilla Grodd to the ring suit to Earth 2. And let's not forget Wentworth Miller playing Captain Cold as the baddest of badass frenemies ever seen. Seriously, just writing about it is making me grin.

I don't have much to say about Arrow right now, lest I spoil things for my girlfriend who reads this blog. I've been digging season 4 way more than seaon 3, but this week's episode had a guest star that made me exclaim out loud, because I was not expecting to see the character in question.

I couldn't get into what I've seen of Arrow on Netflix. I'll give The Flash a chance.

Arrow takes a while to get going, because the showrunners didn't want to put a lot of comic book stuff into it at first. By season 2 it is totally a comic book show. Flash,on the other hand, takes off right away. He has his full costume by episode 2, while Arrow doesn't get his mask until the end of season 2.

Love both those shows. Flash is simply fantastic. I agree, it's one of the best shows on TV period. It embraces its comic bookiness with great care.

I caught my parents watching Flash one day. I was a little shocked. They seemed to enjoy it. They lost interest though soon after that.  Still, it was a minor miracle.

I like Arrow, I'm really far behind, though. Didn't really get into The Flash, though. I have to admit to being a total Agents of SHIELD geek. Given a choice, Marvel over DC any day (with the exception of that abomination known as Daredevil played by Ben Affleck. I hate Ben Affleck).

When it comes to movies, I think Marvel is killing it, with DC far behind. When it comes to TV, I prefer the CW shows for DC. I loved Daredevil and Agent Carter, but I have become increasingly disappointed with Agents of SHIELD, and really didn't like Jessica Jones. I'm still watching SHIELD, but missed the last couple of episodes before the break and haven't felt like getting caught up. Which is a shame, because I love Coulson.

Kinda curious that DC is currently with production troubles with its movies, yet they manage to cruise on tv just fine. By the way, how do/did the shows of Supergirl, Gotham and Hellblazer fared? Seen them?

I didn't care much for Supergirl, but apparently I stopped right before it picked up. I haven't seen Gotham or Hellblazer, but I love that Constantine made a cameo in Arrow.
