Hello Pixls!

Friday is here.  Without further delay, let's get everyone checked in!  What are you playing, watching, reading, and eating this weekend?

Myself....I'm getting deeper and deeper into Persona 4.  I know I'm pretty late to the party with it, but that doesn't really matter...P4 holds up with ease, and is a great experience thus far.  I've been re-watching Hell On Wheels, and will make it through most of the first season tonight, and will do my damndest to get through s2 and s3 before the weekend is out.  The new season 4 begins tomorrow, and I'm pretty excited for it.  I haven't been reading too much lately, but I'll most likely sneak in a couple chapters of Two Years Before The Mast this weekend.  If I get bored with all the aforementioned, I'll dive into some comics (Walking Dead and Transformers).  If I'm lucky, the ol' lady will want to eat some Subway tonight...I really don't feel like any kind of hot food, as it's 107 in my part of California today.

I'm also super-stoked for the first game the Game Club is playing....Demon's Souls!!!

But enough about me...tell me about YOUR weekend!!

Guardians of the Galaxy. ArcheAge. Swordsman. Dark Souls 2 DLC.

Persona 4 Golden is gorgeous on PSVITA. It's a classic game for sure. Top 10 RPGs all time.

You're forgetting Demon's Souls.....

I saw you playing it last night on PSN!!!!

Let us know how Guardians of the Galaxy is.  I don't trust any reviews from IGN or that ilk anymore.  Every Marvel movie they review seems to be better than the last...which is fine....but gimme the cons with the pros, you know?

Let me know how far you are into Demon's.  I'm SL 30 and getting my ass handed to me at the Tower of Latria.

I'll be playing Mass Effect 2, Anachronox, Bioshock, KOTOR on the iPad, and Final Fantasy IX.

my nephew is arriving for a week this sunday.  I'm kind of filled with dread as he is a little monster.  11 years old, sharp tongue, misbehaves, etc.  Well, maybe it won't be so bad.

Maybe it won't be bad.....

All the same though....make sure he doesnt delete your saves if he gets ahold of any of your gaming devices.

I remember when my little brother was around 6, he deleted all my saves from Lord Of The Rings: The Third Age on Gamecube.  I forbid him from touching anything I owned after that.

Come to think of it...I haven't really trusted him since then

Quiet weekend on my end. It's kinda weird because this a long weekend here and we're doing nothing. I'll be playing Trails in the Sky. I've already hit a battle that wiped me out and I knew it was coming as soon as I walked into it. Oh yeah I remember this, this is where I got killed last time. Time to grind.

It must be a good game if you're willing to forego the plethora of console and handheld games you've at your disposal.  Is there a demo for it on Steam?  All the reviews I've read for Trails PC have been decent

I have not seen a demo. I bought it on my play time with the PSP version. I'm actually enjoying it more this time except for the stupid lockups but they only last 30 seconds or so, I'm getting used to them now

Continuing playing both XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Darksiders. I hear that Gamestop is doing a special that if you trade in The Last of Us for PS3, you can get the PS4 version for $25. May do it, worth it to me because I love that game and I only paid $25 for the PS3 version during the Amazon Black Friday Sales.

Nice!

I thought I read somewhere a while back that trading upward from PS3 to PS4 on certain games will only cost ten bucks?

Sony was doing that $10 upcharge when next gen first started. Not anymore though... :(

Now you have to rely on Gamestop for stuff like that.

that stinks!  I was hoping the $10 deal would remain intact for good.

Playing: Dunno yet, depends on my mood. I may fire up the ol' N64 and/or Gamecube, though I should probably play some of my Steam games. Might finish out my Arkham collection and play through Origins. I've also got Resident Evil 4 downloaded on Steam, cause it was around the same price as a decent used GCN copy during the Summer Sale. And of course there's that stockpile of Steam games I own but haven't downloaded.

Watching: Breaking Bad. Honestly, while the show can't possibly live up to its "best thing on God's green Earth" hype, season 4 is getting really good. I also want to see both Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Guardians of the Galaxy, but we'll see.

Reading: There's a good possibility I'll start revising my rough draft now and read more research for my Independent Study. I want to read The Fault in Our Stars and Divergent, but I haven't had the time. My next book purchases will probably not be Young Adult fiction. I want to start getting into nonfiction and comic books more, but again, we'll see.

Eating: My groceries. I used some of the money I got back from the mechanic a while ago and went a lil' overboard. I got a lot of healthy meats, and fruits and veggies to snack on though ... in addition to Oreos, Fruity Pebbles, red velvet cookies with icing, etc. Yup.

Have a good one!

that's an epic response!  You've got a lot of different things to choose from.  Arkham Origins was fun, but as far as the story goes..you may not be as invested in it as Arkham City.  I could be wrong there; for me, it just didn't get its hooks in like the first two did.  I have a copy of RE4 that I keep starting up on and only playing through until that first Chainsaw encounter, then I get frustrated bc it kicks my ass.

I want to read Divergent too.

Your repast for the weekend sounds delicious.  What sort of healthy meats did you get, and how will you prepare them?

I'm glad the mechanic refunded you.  Out here in CA, and everywhere, I'm assuming, the independent mechanics have the same reputation as snake oil salesmen did back in the old West.

Sunday I'm going to see Guardians of the Galaxy with my friend Mark and then we'll play EDF 2025 the rest of the day. I have to check PSN for the price on Dark Souls for the club. On PC they won't tell you the price. Weird. Gamestop has it for $18, but it might be cheaper on PSN.

Monday I'll be starting Dark Souls on PS3 for the club. Then late night I might go see Guardians again because I will have seen the regular version on Sunday with Mark, who gets eye strain from 3D, and I want to see it in IMAX 3D. I think it will be that good.

The club's playing Demon's Souls, brother.  =)

And I believe Nicole found the download version via Amazon for about 11 bucks....a bit cheaper than the physical copy.

Happy hunting!

Darn it! I'm stupid. I just realized that. Anyway, I have Demon's Souls already so I'm good.

Opps. too late to take part in this. enjoy that JRPG! I myself put my time into Ace combati Infniity and gave Bioshock Infinite another chance. I finally bought my F-117A but it needs updating given it only has one presicison bomb system. I also bought a F-15C but I'm not sure if I should invest more into that american fighter when I want the russian T-50 fighter.

I was hoping to spend time with my bro on his birthday but he had other plans. I stil need to get him a gift.

There's something to be said for precision daylight bombing runs.

Let's see, this past weekend I was fighting off a sinus headache which sucked, but I managed to play a bunch of random games on the tablets, and I tinkered with the Nintendo Wii. Other than that nothing too exciting.
