Had to throw a shout to Mr. Yarger.  But I'll take it one step further.....

LoL....I like this. A LOT.

Welcome everyone....to THE WEEKENDER!!!!

credit to original designer of this last image...I believe I've stated before though that I'm not the guy who makes this blog's titular image, I mostly just rip it off from Google.  Hell, I'm not making any money here...so we should be good, right?

Of course we are!

How is everyone?  I'm well enough...I started an HVAC job this week and left it 3 days after I started.  Why? you may be asking.  Well, it's simple: they wanted me to work in one of these without an OSHA-approved harness:

yes my friends, that'd be MADNESS.  Did you know that 25% of all aerial lift deaths occur in/outside of these puppies?  I did...I became OSHA-certified in operation aeriel boom lifts while I was a machinist at Grimmway.  Add to the aforementioned bullshit the fact that my "trainer" got pissed off the 2nd day and started hurling end-wrenches and a cordless drill in my direction from atop a roof...and well, yeah, you get the picture.

That was an EASY decision to make, walking away from that job.  That being so, the search for gainful employment is now back on.  Hopefully I get on with WinCo Foods as an overnite stocker/freight pusher.  That'd be sweet.

Now, let's inject some normalcy into this blog!!

What Are You Playing?

I've been playing Demon's Souls and Persona 4 lately, as well as Rogue Legacy and Shovel Knight.  I can't recommend Shovel Knight and Rogue Legacy enough, they're both highly addictive.  My real interest this week though is Demon's Souls...I've been making my way through Boletaria in small pieces and chunks, and am thoroughly enjoying it.  Sure I've been dying a whole lot...but I rarely make the same mistakes twice in this game.  It's really starting to grow on me...just 2 weeks ago I didn't think I'd ever come back to it.  However, after hitting a wall in Persona 4 I came back and started to invest more time in it (DeS).  I've just picked up the Flame Resistance Ring and the Purple Flame Shield, and after I pump 2 more points into Strength I should be where I need to be in order to defeat the Flamelurker and then....the Maneaters!

Persona 4 is still got its hooks in me too...and after a well-advised tip from Jgusw, I know what I need to do to grind it out and proceed past Shadow Mitsuo.

What Are You Watching?

Currently watching the Iron Man anime that's available for free via Crackle.  My son digs it too!  I also have a couple episodes of this current season of Hell On Wheels to catch up on.  That'll happen this weekend at some point in time.  I also want to check out Bojack Horseman on Netflix...looks like it could be good!

What Are You Reading?

Mostly videogame websites like PixlBit and user blogs.  It's been a good few weeks since I read any kind of physical print media...I need to get back into the swing of that.  If I finish a book every couple weeks, I'll be in good shape.  I still haven't cracked open my copy of The King Of Torts by Grisham.  I need to.

What Are You Eating?

I've been on a kick with eggs lately...fried egg sandwiches with ketchup and hot sauce....omelettes with sharp cheddar cheese....and even hardboiled with a little salt.  I need to switch it up a bit though...I don't want to end up dead from egg consumption.

It's your turn, my friends!  Comment away!!!

For What are You Eating check my Lays chip blog. I'm bound and determined to finish Rainbow Moon this weekend. I'm at the last boss and cleaning up some quests before I take him on.

By my estimation, you've put more than 70 hours into Rainbow Moon.  I'd say you've gotten sufficient bang for your buck!  I'm headed over to your Lay's blog right....about...now.

Good luck at Winco Foods, that sounds like it'd be nice if you can get on!

I've been on a soup kick for a few months, I make a big batch on Mondays and snack on it throughout the week inbetween classes at school.

Delicious!!!

What kind of soup have you been making?  We love soups in my household...any ideas you give will definitely be given consideration!!!

I plan on playing Dragon Age ORigins this weekend, as well as more Distant Worlds.  I need to finish DAO soon so I can start DA2.  I want to have finished both by the time the new one comes out this fall.

Watching?  Preseason football!  I don't like TV shows, but I watch sports, and right now it's lame preseason football in preparation of the real thing.

Reading?  I have this book on opera I mean to be reading again.  I wish I could read fiction again but onnly nonfiction works.  And comics, I can read those sometimes.

tonight is home made pizza night.  My mom makes the best.

Does she make her own crust?  Or go the Boboli route?  Either way, homemade pizza sounds delicious.  I usually cheat and do it on a loaf of fresh french bread.

I like french bread pizza too.  But my mom makes her own dough.  It's damn good.

self-made dough is the best way to roll.

That sucks about the job. I used to operate forklifts and these things they called "pickers" when I worked at Lowes years ago. I had to wear a harness to pilot the picker because the cab is designed to raise along with the forks, similar to what your working with. Looking back I was young and had no idea if that stuff was OSHA approved. I already knew some other shit was not right and I called them out on it with safely unloading trucks. Cost me my job but I hated the place and was ready to move on anyway.

Still playing Skyrim. I tried to play the new Wolfenstien, that game is tough as hell. Just couldn't hang.lol Wish Destiny was out already.

Watched a very crazy but good movie called God Bless America. If you feel America is being destroyed by mediocrity, vileness, shameless values that put wealth and materialism as virtues, American Idol sludge, you will love this movie. And this movie is so not PC in regards to mass shootings, just fair warning. It was directed by Bobcat Goldthwait.

I just ate a hot sausage po-boy, it was good, but I'm going to pay for it later.lol Spicey and greasy, worst possible combination.

yeah, when I'd heard that the place in question had been through 3 different guys prior to me within a 3 week time span, the red flags started to whip in the wind.  That old man was lucky I didn't climb the ladder and shove him off the roof, believe me the thought had raced through my mind.

Good luck on the job search! When I was out of college, I looked at several overnight stocking jobs. I enjoy not talking to people and doing physical work instead. That's what I learned at my time at Outback. Of course, I also love not talking to people until they need something and being able to work while sitting on my ass, which my current job is teaching me. Hope you find something where they aren't trying to kill you!

I really want to get Shovel Knight, but right now I'm not sure if I'm willing to pay $15 for a game like it. I'm not saying I wouldn't be under normal circumstances, considering how great it looks and everyone says it is, but I can't justify certain expenses right now. I hope it goes on sale soon. For the time being, I'm still powering through Arkham Origins and doing what I can in Grand Theft Auto III. I really wish it were easier to set the controls on a PC/360 controller in the latter and that it would let me use triggers, but I've mostly gotten used to the setup thankfully.

I'm ready to watch some Bojack Horseman as well. Aaron Paul seems like a cool guy, and I hope he gets more recognition and good parts after Breaking Bad

I was just talking to my friend about how I haven't read much but research articles all summer, and I'm still only a chapter or a few pages into Divergent and The Fault In Our Stars. Yeah, I read Young Adult novels for girls, what of it? The thing is, while I do have goodreads, I feel like new books don't get promoted enough that I'm aware of them most of the time or nothing grabs my attention. We'll see if I read more for fun once the semester starts and I'm ass deep in textbooks and research articles.

I had scrambled eggs and protein powder yesterday and ... I think that might have been about it. I ate at Panda Express today on campus because it was open and had their Orange Chicken with Bacon. It tasted a bit sweeter than their normal Orange Chicken, which I wasn't that into, but it was overall pretty good. I still have some of the rice in that bowl inside my car. Should probably refrigerate that. I'm thinking of where I should go this weekend since it's my last hurrah before I start trying to be extra-responsible and eating groceries for the most part. I'll see if my friend wants to go anywhere, and if not, I'll probably just try something new on my own. I've been craving fruits and veggies anyway though, so maybe that trip to Kroger will come sooner than later.

Oh and since I slept through most of the day again after I got off work, I still need to watch the season finale to Legend of Korra. I have a feeling it's gonna be good.

Orange chicken with bacon?  I need to have that in my life.

I honestly prefer the normal orange chicken, but then again, I don't share the Internet's fascination with bacon, though I do like it.

i honestly like anything better with bacon.  I don't care who's fascinated by it.

xDarthKiLLx

that might've come out wrong, but I stand by it - I love bacon.  Even in a milkshake. Which I've had. At Denny's.

I remember that promotion. I wanted to try it, but never did.

xDarthKiLLx

it was good...from what I remember.  But I can't get over the feeling that the bacon overpowered the maple ice cream.

I'm sorry but folks are CRAZY if they think it's ok to put someone's well being in danger. Good for you for standing up to this madness. Good luck on Winco, that's my go to spot for Steak Night...and their Salt and Vinegar Wings.

Playing: Star Wars Commander. I'm upgrading everything before my shield is up and people can attack.

Watching: I'm waiting for Eastern Washington vs Sam Houston State

Reading: Pixlbit blogs

Eating: It was steak night last night, and I just ate some leftovers.

You better not be rooting for Sam Houston in that game. Purple and white all day!

No I didn't root for either team, but the Sam Houston WR had a crazy one handed catch in the endzone towards the end of the game.

A bit late, but I'll pretend I posted this on Friday.

I'm planning on setting up my new PS3 and then playing some co-op stuff with a friend of mine. Probably some old favs like Untold Legends and Haze.

Just watched Fabulous Frogs, a David Attenborough nature docu. Really good as always.

Reading Freud's Interpretation of Dreams and Proust's Swann's Way. Deep stuff.

Eating canned rice and beans, popcorn and early Halloween candy. This week it's chocolate covered peanut butter balls decorated like eyeballs.

You know, I think I died more in Persona 4 than Demon's Souls. It's really what you find difficult. I don't find the Souls series overly difficult. Or I do, but it doesn't bother me, whereas difficulty can grate on me in other games. I think it's more catering to what I'm good at: Slow paced strategic combat. If this were Devil May Cry 3 I'd have told it to fuck off years ago, but I adore it.

Also, sorry to hear about your job. Hunting for work sucks balls.

I hate those kind of jobs that look down on you when they expect you to violate saftey requirements just so you can do your job like a good little underling. I was just (kinda) threatned with termination just now for refusing to drive in a delivery truck that reeked of cigarette smoke. We are suppose to have a smoke free policy here and I"m being threated with termination because my workplace is unhealthy?

Seems like the only way to tend to such issues it to go to court it would seem.

not much gaming for me this weekend. I'm spending that time with teh wife. Even though we went on vacation it felt like we didn't spend enough time with eachtother. Sure I'll get in some Ace Combat Infinity and possible my Pac off challegend with a pixlbitter here butr that's about it.

Feeding on: pizza with undercooked sausage. I'm regretting it even as we speak.

it burns me up that probably no action will be taken against that guy.  And I ended up sacrificing the one part-time job I had in order to go see what the HVAC job was all about.

Oh well...something better is on the horizon.  That's how it always works out.

Ever since I gave up smoking (in all its forms, weed, cigs, cigars) I can't abide the smell of any kind of smoke.  I feel you there.
