Here's what I read in 2014:

-Game Boys by Richard Blake

-Masters Of Doom by David Kushner

-Super Mario: How Nintendo Conquered The World by Jeff Ryan

-Playing For Pizza by John Grisham

There's my list.  Not as epic or glorious as some, but I wasn't idle in gaming or reading in 2014.

Looking to beat my numbers this year.

I already started 2015 by beating Shovel Knight (started in 2014) and picking up Killing Lincoln to read after reading The Fault In Our Stars and Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Promise at the very end of 2014.

That's a good list you have there. I also beat all the Batman games (Steam) last year.

I almost forgot......

I beat Demon's Souls once or twice too.  Besides the Souls games, the Arkham games are the only full trilogy (released) to date that I've beaten.

Good times.

I've never thought about how many trilogies I've beaten. The only other trilogy I can think of that I own is the Castlevania DS games.

I'm currently trying to get through Dark Souls 2, but it just made me want to get through Dark Souls 1 for real this time. My save got corrupted right after I rang the second bell last time. Should keep me busy until Bloodborne though!

Play through Dark Souls 1 and get it out of the way....the community available grows smaller with each passing day.

I haven't touched any of the MP functionality. Plan to beat every boss and get through every area solo.

Ornstein and Smough.  That's a tough fight to solo.  Good luck!

I think DS 1 is harder. I would get through DS 2 first then DS1, then Demons If you havn't finished any of them. Or if you've seen enough of DS2 then get on to DS1 is okay. Maybe try a pyromancer build if it's too hard, or ask for more tips here if you get stuck. Lotta great players on here, but I managed to finish and I suck.

I mostly went back to 1 because I hate 2's health loss. That to me makes it more frustrating to play, whereas even if I die a lot more, I never stress out over my deaths. Except that one time I lost 12000 souls.

I got to the end of 12 games this year. Not a lot.

doesn't matter what you completed, just matters that you had fun.

Thats what this is all about, at the end of the day....fun.  All the rhetorical and and insightful articles and blogs don't mean shit if we don't enjoy this.  Cool

I definitely had fun. Some of my favorites this year I didn't even finish. I'm less concerned with completion now. There's only so much time. I had to let it go.

damn dude, that's a lot of games!  I wish I was as discplined about finishing games.

I used to read a lot of Crichton in my youth, but never read Eaters of the Dead.  He was a damn fine writer though.

Crichton is good stuff.  Not as cerebral as some of the stuff I've seen posted here, but he's good for a quick and entertaining read.

If you've got a 7 year old who demands you attention in the evenings, the last thing you want to read is something that truly makes you think.  I enjoy Crichton, I've read almost all of his library =)

I'm not as disciplined as some when it comes to finishing games.  I bought far more than I finished this past year

Hooray for DuckTales!

it wasn't THAT good.  It was cool, a real nostalgia trip, but most of the other games I've completed kicked that game's ass.

Still a fun game though.

If it weren't for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, DuckTales Remastered would've been my Game of the Year for 2013.  I really liked it, so nyeah!  :)

Damn! You've played Dark Souls 2 for almost double the time I have! I've got 230 hours on record.

Youre still The King, Blake.  You and AsReal motivated me toward the platinum.

I don't think I finished that many games last year.  I need to get on the ball.

Do what you feel.  Finishing doesn't really matter.

Some games I put in too many hours to quit. Laughing

If it's any consolation, I'm impressed with your acheivement and you should recommend me some games more often. I don't have time to play anymore. I have to experience others joy through blogs. *sniffles *whimpers

That is a solid list of games and books. 400 hours and a platinum for one game is impressive. Props to you my friend on a good year of gaming and reading and here's to more of that in 2015!

Still alot more than what I've read/beaten. I can't even keep track with all the games I "taste" over the course of the year. The fact alone that you remember all those is something I find amazing.
