Pre Sequel isn't all that great.

I'll probably send it back pretty quick.

I think I may have gotten enough Borderlands for a lifetime in Borderlands 2.

Try explaining that to certain developers and publishers who like to put out a sequel every year or sometimes multiple times in the same year. I'm looking at you Assassin's Creed. Like Kenny Rogers said "You gotta know when to fold 'em"

yeah... it makes sense though that they would milk everything out of what they have though... every company does that.  They don't change the flavor of Doritos every year, but they still sell.  I think some companies see media the same way, or at least try to force that round peg to fit in a square hole.

People like old things wrapped in new packages or new things wrapped in old packages, most of the time.

What gets me is how COD added all the wall jumping and jetpack stuff this year kind of in response to Titanfall (which was groundbreaking) and people are like "Wow!"  I have nothing against COD, but that kind of move is a bit cynical and manipulative.

The thing about AC is the games seem to be good... every other year.  My brother loved the pirate game, but that almost succeeded in spite of being a AC game.  maybe next year's will be good again after this year's misstep.  I dunno.

"they don't change the flavor of Doritos every year but they still sell."

That's my all-time favorite quote now, and you're the author, Snee.

Yep...already sealed and ready to hit the Post Office tomorrow morning.  I think reading KnightDriver's Borderlands blogs may have vicariously put me over the top when it comes to this franchise.

There truly isn't very much new here.

Yea, nothing really new, just filling in some of the back story. I liked it, but I didn't do the DLC yet, because I've burnt out on it.

BL2 was pretty hard to top. I think they put this out to sate the hardcore until they can put BL3 together. Plus Gearbox should have learned their lesson about contracting out stuff to other studios. Presequel just feels rushed and thin. As a hardcore fan I appretiate what it offers story wise, but I can't deny I'm a bit disappointed with it.

It is what it is. Derivative and samey, but for fans it's cool to get some of the story filled in. Definitely a case for a rental and not a buy, I think; although, I had to buy it; can't beat more co-op shlooter action.

There is a apparently a chance Borderlands 3 or another full title will be annouced possibly tomorrow at pax south. I'm hopeing it's 3 but their is a chance it's another hold off title.

I've never been a fan of Borderlands. Like the idea of it, but the shooting and enemy encounters are so awful that I get bored with these games.

The main reason I gave this game a shot was because I didn't play the previous games at all, so everything was new to me. I put about 10 hours in after getting bored. The other thing is that I originally thought the game would be shorter than usual--it wasn't, and I felt like the solo campaign started getting too much padding in between and kind of lost momentum after the opening. It is what it is. Oh, and I like sci-fi/space themes, but I got tired of the moon after a while.

I didn't really like 2 much. I mean, I should, it has a lot to love, but it just doesn't click for me.

I have the first two Borderlandses on my PS3 courtesy of PSN+. I played a bit of the first one ad really wanted to keep going but I agree with Casey that the shooting is awful.

I should actually erase them to free up space for something I might actually play.

I haven't tackled Pre Sequel yet. I'm still hoping/waiting it shows up on the Vita, but I get what you're saying. It sounds like overkill for folks especially when they spent so many hours playing BL2

I"ll still play this one first before I get to the first game. Might as well try to play them in order!
