The one and only blog I'm doing on this topic

Good blog entry. I agree with you 100%.

I've read that USU is a publicly-funded university which is probably why security measures weren't beefed up alongside state gun laws. Had this conference happened at a privately-funded university, it would be different. But the university and the state sided with an anonymous, cowardly asshole and its nothing but baffling.

Agree or don't agree with Sarkeesian's video series, there's a right and a wrong way to engage with her (or anyone) regarding the discussion she was hoping to inspire. I was on the side of finding some of her videos underwhelming and so I ignored her. You don't always have to engage with someone who's opinion is different than yours. Just move on with your life. You don't need to "put her in her place".

There's no guarantee that her videos would've changed public opinion in any way if certain people were more civil in their behavior. The death/rape threats and barrage of insults did nothing but make her more visible. Telling her to shut up only made her more vocal (as well as her supporters); by the way, telling anyone to shut up on the internet is pointless. Trying to stop the progress of her argument only ensured that it continues. It's nothing but a prolonged smear campaign with no endgame. Pure toxic trash that should've died and wrapped up months ago.

That trailer disgusts me and I have no interest in ever playing a murder simulator. It's a personal preference perhaps (I don't enjoy GTA games since they embrace criminality, despite their technical achievements) but I don't see the value of being placed in the shoes of a psychopathic murderer, no matter how novel the idea may be. Even if I ever got a chance to play it, I don't think I'd last very long. The game that's being sold here seems to be a celebration of human depravity, rather than an indictment of it.

Congrats on the new place. Good deal on that rent as well. The only thing I miss about sharing an apartment with someone is sharing the costs of rent. And I agree, being located near creature comforts is always a plus. At my current location I have drive to some of those but its less than 5 minutes away (and up one of the biggest hills in town) so no problem.

My brother was a huge fan of Red Dwarf and he also bought those books as well as a collection of scripts from selected episodes.

I once picked eggs in a chicken house when I was younger. I stopped early on since it played hell with my sinuses. It's a shitty job in a literally shitty environment.

Assassin's Creed Unity Has No Consistency

If Ubisoft reps just kept their mouth shut or used another official excuse such as "ease of development" and/or "we were struggling to hit the release date", I think this wouldn't have blown up in the manner that it did. This could also be a case of a game that's early on in a generation's lifespan that doesn't completely take advantage of said console's abilities for whatever reason, which I've heard has happened in the early years/stages of the past two console generations.

By this point, people will know whether they want to continue playing this series every year. As much as I enjoyed Black Flag, I'm on the fence regarding Unity and Rogue. But Ubisoft needs to take a breather from this franchise. The game could end up being fun to play anyway but I understand the multitude of eyes-rolling.

This was one of the first PSN titles that I downloaded (back when I had a PSN). It truly hasn't aged well; definitely one of those "you had to be there" pieces of entertainment. Awful to control, the saving mechanic was terrible and it was more frustrating that scary. I can admire it for its place in gaming history.

I still kinda prefer X2 to DOFP but there have been times I truly feel that these two have been neck-and-neck at the top.

The former athletic director was with the district for about 3 decades. I can understand that he was so important for so many people. In that regard it made sense. The thing that truly made it nuts is that the gym has very little ventilation and they conducted the service in evening following a 90 degree day. All the portable fans couldn't make a difference in the world, I'm told.
