Some thoughts

Posted on 08/12/2015 at 08:15 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I could be wrong, but I think that Bat-Mite is one of those things that is considered canon when he appears, but then when he's not around they just pretend he doesn't exist.  There is actually a Bat-mite series currently running.  He just met Damian Wayne (Robin) last issue. It's just one of those things that comic book universes can get away with, like having wolverine going around killing people in Uncanny X-Force, being a responsible teacher in Wolverine & The X-Men, and then being a complete joke in some random issue of another comic, and all of them are canon.

Commodore PET Smartphone Anyone?

If it was available here I'd seriously consider it. I loved the C64.  Due to my dad having a friend that was part of the hacker community, I probably played more games on the C64 than every other system since combined.   Sometime dozens of games would fit on one floppy disk, and we had at least a couple hundred disks.  I'd feel bad about it, but I didn't know any better at the time and I still ended up buying dozens of games once I had my own money.

Ranking the Community Seasons

Posted on 06/06/2015 at 08:07 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I would rank them the same way, and for pretty much the exact same reasons.  I too was lukewarm on Season 1 intially.  When it first came on the air I found it interesting, but for the first several episodes I wasn't sure if I was going to keep watching it or not.  It was sometime towards the middle of the season (or maybe the end?) when I realized that the show was genius and that I loved it.

I'm looking forward to more Rick and Morty, but so far that show hasn't really clicked for me yet.   I found it funny enough and will keep watching, but haven't quite grasped why there are so many people on the internet who think it's better than Community.

Quick Hits: The End Of Community? Adam Carolla's Book And Pickups

Posted on 06/05/2015 at 09:41 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I thought the last season of Community was okay.  In my opinion it was still better than  every other current half-hour commedy show that I can think of, but it wasn't as exciting to me as most of the past seasons.  The final episode was good, but still felt a little too forced to me.

As for the yahoo screen closed captioning problem you brought up, either that was something new or just a operating system-specific problem.  I watched every episode as it became available on my ipad, with the exception of the last one.  I never experienced any issue until the final episode, which we watched on my wife's laptop.  That was when I had the same issue that you did.  While reading comments on the final episode on ign I saw several other people mention the closed captioning problem.

Sorry, but I have to mention that I find Adam Carolla to be one of the least funny and most annyoing comedians there is.  I can't stand seeing him on tv or on the radio/podcasts.  I could only imagine how annoying I would find his book.

The Xenoblade Obsession Returns

I recently opened up my Wii copy for the first time and have now put about 25 hours in to it.  I'm really enjoying it, although like you I'm not always certain what is going on in battles.

Sometimes I can swear I have no ailments and am in the correct range of the opponent, but still everything is X'd out.  I'm sure I probably just missed the screen that might have explained it.  I just recently realized that the monado can only charged by allowing Shulk to auto-attack.  I spent the first 3/4 of the time I was playing it getting frustrated that sometimes it didn't seem to ever refill and not understanding why.

25 of my favorite movies

Posted on 03/17/2015 at 10:02 AM | Filed Under Blogs

Good list.  I'm a pretty big fan of westerns too.

I could never make a numbered list of my favorite movies, but a few that quickly come to mind are Chasing Amy, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Godfather, The Big Lebowski, Punch Drunk Love, The Princess Bride, Dazed and Confused, Stand By Me, Blade Runner, Star Wars, Serenity, Search for the Holy Grail... and few dozen more that I can't think of at the moment.

Just Checking In.

I started replaying the first Hotline Miami this past weekend.  I really enjoy the game and will probably get the second one soon.

As for the end of HIMYM, it seems like I'm the only one in the internet who didn't hate the ending. I thought the final season was a let-down overall, but as for the final few minutes, I kind of liked it.  It was obvious from the very beginning that the whole show was more about how much he loved their "aunt" Robin than it was about how he met their mother.  It would have felt odd to me if it ended with him and the mother living happily ever after.

Dark Pretensions and Farts — Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty Review

I bought this game a few weeks ago but haven't gotten around to playing it yet.  It's dissapointing hearing about the flaws in the remake, especially the stuff about not having the ability to see the entire screen at once.  I still plan on playing it though.  The original was one of my favorite games ever.  It was one of the main reasons I originally bought a Playstation my freshman year at college (with the second reason being the original Tony Hawk).

So the PS+ Lineup is Finally Available - Papo & Yo pops back in.

Cool. I've wanted to check out Counterspy and OlliOlli. It sucks that I've already paid for New and Tasty and haven't even played it yet, but I don't really mind that I supported them. Hopefully they'll make a new game soon.

I saw on ign that Papo y Yo was available too. That's odd that they changed it. it doesn't really effect me, since Ive already bought and played it, but it's a fun game.

Kat and Jeremy Are Back On The Air! (BaDay 25)

Yeah, I'm been listening to their podcasts lately.  I can't help but follow anything Jeremy is involved with.  He has just about a perfect combination of video game knowledge, talent, and snark.  I like the other guys/gal too.
