Some thoughts

Was Bat-Mite or Bat-Dog considered Batman canon at one point since they were in the comic books according to DC's history of Batman account for the 75th anniversary of the character online? If comic books themselves can have different canons involving the same character and general universe, why not media inspired by them?

I don't trust Hillary Clinton. Mainly because Time Warner is one of her top ten donors according to a meme on Facebook I don't feel like verifying. Right now she's a demon. If I see Comcast giving her money, she's the devil.

Saw an NPR article on a video game developer of sorts trying to get their game through FDA clinical trials so it can be prescribed for mental health benefits. Gonna try and write a plus10damage article about it tomorrow.

I know a lot of people with ties to Maine. Well, four. I need to start ranking all the states outside of Texas I have the most ties to and memories about. I think I've seen a good chunk of Middle America as well as Boston and Los Angeles, yet I forgot about 20 states on some 4 minute Buzzfeed quiz earlier. I recognized them all, but my brain shut off in the final minute.

I should get to sleep earlier.

Saw a one minute clip of a speech by Jim Carey that made me think about my life. Blog post on that likely.

Stay frosty, Pixlbitches.

no, DC kind of erased that shit, I guess sort of embarassed about it.  It's not considered canon.  However, when Grant Morrison took over BAtman a couple years ago, he used Batmite and pretty much said that EVERY Batman comic was part of canon.  So it's up for debate.

I don't like Hillary either.  But at least she's not Trump.  Hopefully, the less slimier, less insane candidates will rise to the top by the time of the election. But I doubt it.

She's better than Trump but despite his numbers now, I don't think he's a serious candidate. If anything, he'll be third party and there are reasons I'm ok with that.

If he does become president it'll be like having the anti-Batman in office.

Anyway, with the Bat-Mite thing I'm less asking about Bat-Mite specifically and more wondering why comic book fans get so rattled by other media interpretations when so many comic book interpretations themselves seem to fuck with the characters and universes so much anyway. If they can pretend something does or doesn't exist in prestige one-shots etc., I don't see why just saying movies and cartoons have their own universes related to the character would be such a huge deal.

I guess because they want THEIR version of the characters/universes to be the ones seen by mainstream audiences, but I've always found it a bit petty how comic books are taken SO seriously when we don't expect more than 10% of "based on true events" works to actually be true.

well, people tend to think entertainment should cater to their personal tastes and no one elses for some reason.  Laughing

I could be wrong, but I think that Bat-Mite is one of those things that is considered canon when he appears, but then when he's not around they just pretend he doesn't exist.  There is actually a Bat-mite series currently running.  He just met Damian Wayne (Robin) last issue. It's just one of those things that comic book universes can get away with, like having wolverine going around killing people in Uncanny X-Force, being a responsible teacher in Wolverine & The X-Men, and then being a complete joke in some random issue of another comic, and all of them are canon.

The fluidity of canon in the comics themselves is what makes me wonder why fans get so bent out of shape about mainstream adaptations that change minor things, as I alluded to in my response to Matt.

The clickle I am over Tumblr also doesn't trust Hillary either, though neither Trump nor the other Bush son. Sanders seems to be the only one they trust and think it's one of the few sane ones.

That's a lot of people on my Facebook too. I'm not ready to say who I'd vote for, I just think cable companies are evil.

I've been to a few places but mostly east coast USA. I went to Arizona and the grand canyon in my teens and Scotland too. I've been feeling the travel itch lately pretty stongly; been in this darn PA town too long now.

Man, I really want to travel outside the country.

My friend from work just left for Oaxaca in Mexico. He'll live there for at least a year. I don't really want to go south. I'm looking north at the moment: Maine, Canada, Alaska, points in northern Europe. That's where I want to go.

Yeah, aside from tourist traps, Mexico is not my ideal spot either. Maybe Gree ... err, Rome!

I no longer trust any politican. At this point I'm going with who's the one that will not screw up the country regardless of political party (it annoys the folks who like to talk down one party over another)

Sleep is always good.

I'd like to see how games could help mental health.

I have no idea about Batman. What I know is from the Adam West shows, the movies, and some cartoons. Throw in some video games to fill in the blanks.

I'm the same as far as Batman, but looking at the more ridiculous parts of his history got me thinking about canon and such.

By the way, Gus "The Bus" Johnson from SFA just scored the first pre-season TD for the Cowboys!
