Terraria is one of the greatest games of all time, imo. Probably in my top 5 of the last 10 years. Can't imagine playing it on anything but M&Kb though.

I think I've become a dabbler, kind of like you. Very rarely can I stick with a game all the way through anymore. Finished Subnautica in September, and it was the only game I finished this year. Before that was Brutal Doom 64 for Halloween 2020, and Dying Light on New Years of same year. But I have played bits of a lot of games in between, thanks to demos, streaming services, emulation, and sales. Last of Us, Bloodborne, Nioh 2, EDF 5, GoW, Yakuza 0, FFIV Complete Collection, Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War, etc.

Didn't know this even existed. Never played the games, but I remember they got quite a bit of fanfare back in the day.

I like the Dragon Warrior/Quest cartoons that came out a long time ago.

Super Mario World Review

I thought flying around in a yellow cape was cool. Superhero iconography with the primary colors and such.

I think SMB3 map was the more sophisticated one though, with the encounters on the map, alternate paths through each map screen, bonus screens, mini-games. It was a game within a game, while the SMW map was just a place to travel from node to node, although the map graphics were charming.

The castles, while repetitive visually, were the coolest in the series imo.

All in all, one of the best pack-in games of all time.

Awesome VG Adaptations: Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie

I saw a bootleg of the English subbed Japanese original in art school, back in the fansub VHS days.  One of my friends then announced that he had brought it, and a few of us anime and fighting game heads ran into an empty classroom, which had a TV/VHS combo set, to check it out. We were all pretty stoked. SF was still huge at the time, and quality anime was not as readily available as it is now.  Everyone dug the anime. Very well coreographed and meaty fights, fan service, cool style, and pretty faithful representation of the game.  The animation was fairly high end for the time, second only to big budget features like Akira, Royal Space Force, Macross Plus. etc.  Those, as they say, were the days!

Yep trash game, and Castlevania is one of my top 3 favorite series. But I couldn't get past 10 minutes of this PoS.

Undertale's main inspiration is Earthbound I think. The sequel, Deltarune, has been out for a bit too.

I bought after it was already phased out. And only for Ocarina of Time and Perfect Dark. Which were great and worth it.

I saw a Minecraft guide at a nearby thrift store. At the time, it was unexpected and weird to me to find such a thing there, but then I remembered it is the biggest game of all time, so not strange at all.

Golden Oldies: Mario Bros

Wish they'd have the characters look like that cover. Current Mario in-game models look too generic and bland, straight from the Disney school of designing characters according to a formula of features/proportions to make them as safe as possible.
