Overwatch: I love everything about it but the game itself

Uncharted 4 is my jam right now.  Still working through Ratchet & Clank too.

That's what you get for spending so much time outdoors in the real world :p

Yeah, the characters are what separate it from other FPSes.  More like a fighting game (or obviously a MOBA).  Top-notch design, though many are cliche.

Please Just Die Nintendo

I fell out of love with Nintendo since the transition from SNES to N64.  I almost drank their Kool-Aid regarding the "Ultra 64" (cgi quality graphics in realtime!), but they made the mistake of delaying the system to the following Spring (and again to Fall), but I had saved up the money and couldn't wait any longer, so I bought Sony's PlayStation at launch instead--and never looked back.  Well, I did buy a GameCube (for Resident Evil), Wii (mostly for my wife and, well, Virtual Console), and now Wii U (Bayonetta 2) as alternative consoles, but I'm primarily a PlayStation fanboy now.  I was pretty pissed when I heard the Zelda news (and I'm not a big Zelda fan, I just wanted to justify the Wii U purchase), but they did it with Twilight Princess and a bunch of other titles that were moved from Gamecube to Wii, so I'm not the least bit surprised.

Fear, Valkyria Chronicles, Preorders

Pretty cool.  I still have a sealed PS3 copy of Valkyria Chronicles.  Never got around to playing it, so I probably wouldn't get around to it on PS4 either (barely getting to play Uncharted 4 right now).  But I really want it (I also want Odin's Sphere).

The Games of SEGA 3-D Classics Collection

Nice blog.  I used to get all the collections on PS2 and PSP that I could find/afford.  Sega Genesis collection was a favorite of mine, as was Sonic's Ultimate Genesis collection on PS3.  That's where I discovered that the arcade version of Altered Beast was far superior to the Genesis version.  This collection seems pretty light on content, but at least Sega is still doing these, and the upgrades are a nice addition.  I always wanted a Saturn Collection, since I never owned one and missed out on some great games.

Disney Infinity is Dead They Say. Long live Disney Infinity.

Infinity would have been more popular if the licensing restrictions (the ones that kept the different properties separated except in Toy Box mode) didn't exist.  That just confused the shit out of the majority of consumers.  I could maybe understand not being able to use Disney characters in Marvel or Star Wars levels, but you couldn't even use Avengers characters in Spider-Man or GotG levels.  It made absolutely no sense.  Disney has been weird about that since the beginning (in Kingdom Hearts, only Donald and Goofy could go into the different movie-themed worlds due to them being actors or some ridiculous excuse).  Same with Infinity's Toy Box mode--since the characters were considered "toys" in that mode, they could cross over.  Anyway, that was a big turn-off for potential customers, and the fact that earlier figures were hard to find once the new game came out didn't help either.  Even with that, the games were pretty successful, and I think the cancellation had more to do with internal politics and corporate restructuring than sales.  The figures looked pretty nice.  Disney could probably create a line of statues/toys that looked just like those and sell them even without a game.

Retro Review: Parasite Eve

I loved this game when it came out.  At one time I even had the standee that retailers used to market the game.  Square definitely tried to incorporate Resident Evil-style gameplay into an RPG (even moreso in the sequel), but it made me wish for a proper RPG with horror elements in a modern setting (come to think of it, maybe that's why I liked Shadow Hearts so much even though the game looks like butt).  The character design and music were great, but it was very short for an RPG (though I never completed the tower (I believe it was the Empire State Building), which probably would have (somewhat cheaply) added to my play time.

Fight A Day 6: The Raging Demon in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution

Nina's back.  That's the best news I heard all day.  She's been my main since 2 so I would have been beside myself if she wasn't in 7.  I don't have time to follow these fighters before they come out on PS4, so I didn't even realize she wasn't in the earlier version, but I'll definitely be getting this on day one.

Super Bowl 50 Ads: Cary's Best That Ever Was

I didn't really pay attention to many of the commercials.  I got excited when I saw the Marvel logo, thinking it was a new Civil War trailer, and was then disappointed when I realized it was X-Men:Apocalypse.  I guess it looked cool, but other than X2 and First Class, I haven't really loved any of the X-Men films, so I'll wait until I can watch it at home.  The Super Bowl itself was underwhelming for me. though as a Saints fan it's always nice to see the Panthers lose.  The defenses played great, but probably looked better than they really are, because the offenses were just pathetic.
