Killer Instinct Hands On Preview

The Hype is Real!

I stood in a crowd full of other curious and enthusiastic gamers craving to get their hands on Xbox One’s Killer Instinct. The challenge was to win five matches in a row in a king of the ring style tournament. The prize: bragging rights! Oh, and a Turtle Beach headset. Either way, due to Microsoft’s Xbox One being absent at this year’s show, this was my only shot at getting hands on with the game. I eagerly waited and hoped that I would be chosen to play and luckily for me I was eventually picked out of the crowd to play. What followed was one of this weekend’s most exciting moments for me.

Microsoft, Double Helix break 16-year combo of no sequels

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Preview

The hardcore RPG fan may have a new banner to rally around.

Starting life as an MMORPG, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning has morphed into one of the more interesting original IPs to be released next year.  The game is being developed by industry newcomer 38 Studios and strategy game developer Big Huge Games.  These names may not carry much weight, but they have some serious big name talent working on Reckoning’s game world, most notably being revered fantasy author R.A. Salvatore and comic god Todd McFarlane who have created the game world and artwork respectively.  Lesser known, but still a heavy lifter in his own right, is Ken Ralston who was the lead designer on Morrowind and Oblivion.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Hands On Preview

While at E3, I found the time to play Kirby's upcoming new title, Kirby Wii.

The newest Kirby console title, Kirby Wii, brings Kirby back to a world less composed of fibers and more of dreams. That's right, Kirby is, without a doubt, back in Dream Land, offering similar stage design and gameplay to that found in modes like DynaBlade and Revenge of the Meta Knight in Kirby's Super Star.

Killer Freaks From Outer Space Preview

An Ubisoft-styled shooter for Nintendo's new console.

Ubisoft announced their release next year of a Wii U game entitled "Killer Freaks From Outer Space". It's an alien apocalypse game set in 2012 (ha) in which you are planet Earth's primary defense against hordes of disgusting alien invaders. What's left of humanity has been garrisoned in the few remaining unspoiled major cities of the world.

Kid Icarus: Uprising Hands On Preview

Light and Dark battle it out in Kid Icarus: Uprising

Kid Icarus: Uprising has been one of my most anticipated titles for the Nintendo 3DS since its initial announcement last year. While the 3DS has come out and Kid Icarus still hasn't, fans wondered what was in store for them once they finally get their hands on it. One thing I can say, is that the game is very fun and there's a lot more to it than expected.

Kinect Sports Hands On Preview

Haven't I done this before on some other system four years ago?

Aside from Kinect Joy Ride, a few different Kinect Sports games were available for play at the Kinect booth. Bowling, Table Tennis, and Beach Volleyball were the choices, and I had the opportunity to check out both Bowling and Table Tennis.

Kinect Joy Ride Hands On Preview

You'll definitely be driving it like it's stolen.

Thanks to the Kinect Booth at my local mall, I had the opportunity to go hands on (body on?) with Kinect Joy Ride for a single race with Contributing Writer, Jason Hillhouse.
