League of Legends: Clash of Fates Hands On Preview

Riot Games' soon to be released title, League of Legends, is taking the Defense of the Ancients gameplay mainstream

Back in 2003, a custom game scenario called Defense of the Ancients (known by fans as DotA) was made for Warcraft 3. This modified multiplayer map basically took the game’s hero classes, and made them the core game mechanic with support from AI controlled minions. The scenario was an instant hit and within only a few years the game reached worldwide popularity. It became arguably the world’s most popular unsupported game mod, even finding its place in tournaments like the World Cyber Games. Now in 2009, developer Gas Powered Games is trying its hand at a modified version of the game marketed towards more than the mostly hardcore audience that has enjoyed it to this point.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days Review

The bad guys show their soft side this time around.

I learned two things from my play time with Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. The first being that sea salt ice cream sounds gross but must be good since the main characters are always eating it, and that even after three installments, the Kingdom Hearts series can still manage to produce a game that is as fun, bright, and full of Disney magic as the very first title.

Heavy On the Chic, Still on the Geek

A dozen or so fashion styles that keep trends just as much in line as geeky interests.

Everyone loves clothing, especially nice clothes, which help you feel good, get a job, and impress your girlfriend's family. But what people love most about clothes is using them as an outlet of self-expression. I've worn every type of clothing a girl could possibly wear, from frilly dresses in my youngest days to large men's tees from Hot Topic in my young teens. Nowadays I try to balance my two inner-mes out between self-expressionist and old band tees and trendy designer dressings and ankle boots (which I've only worn twice, I won't lie!!). Clothing is actually how I met my one true love as well, as I bumped face first into Neal's Super Mario Bros. tee. Let's face it – clothes are important for almost every aspect of life.

Spyborgs Review

Maybe old-school brawlers just aren't as cool as they used to be.

Spyborgs pretty much went through development hell. It originally surfaced in 2008 and was a cartoony game with interactive commercials. Then it was M.I.A. for a number of months and came back as a comic book-esque beat-'em-up with a decidedly darker feel, story, and tone. On some levels, the new style works, but for the most part, Spyborgs is just a polished endless barrage of enemies with some cool set pieces.
