An exploit allows access to the Vita's PSP emulation for homebrew apps.
It is being reported that Sony has taken down two PSP titles, Hot Shots Tennis and MotorStorm Arctic Rift, from the PlayStation Network. This is due to concerns that they can be used to hack the new PlayStation Vita. The two titles are now no longer available to download from any device, including the PlayStation 3, PSP and the aforementioned PlayStation Vita.
Although already leaked, the official announcement has now been made.
Although originally tweeted by Hideo Kojima, Konami has officially announced the release of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for the PlayStation Vita. The port is coming this summer and includes Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3, removing the inclusion of Peace Walked as seen in the home console release.
It may just be a golf game, but it’s one of the best in the Vita launch line-up.
Despite its colorful and inviting presentation, Hot Shots Golf has always been about providing a near-simulation golf experience. Like real golf, every shot counts. In order to post the lowest scores and win the most tournaments you must analyze the wind, the course’s construction, its slopes, and even the weather conditions. Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational carries the torch to the PlayStation Vita providing nearly the exact same tight experience the series has offered for years.
Those happy little bouncing Vita icons hold a deep, dark secret.
The PlayStation Vita is a fine gaming machine – one that I have enjoyed playing for the past couple of weeks since its release. It's sturdily constructed, has a beautiful OLED display, some great launch games, and a very nifty user interface that's both attractive and easy to use. Despite all it has going for it, it houses one of the worst design decisions I've ever encountered in a gaming console.
The 12 characters won't be exclusive to the portable after all.
Capcom's Seth Killian told Shacknews that the 12 extra characters in the Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken will eventually come to consoles. "We'll find a way to make sure that console fans are happy, as well," Killian noted.
The Vita title will see a western release this summer.
Sony announced today on its blog that its bringing Gravity Daze to North America as Gravity Rush. Gravity Daze was released on February 9, 2012 in Japan and received positive reviews from the Japanese video game press. The western release will be available on June 12, 2012 in retail outlets as well as digitally on the PlayStation Store.
If you had some aching desire for portable Ninja Gaiden, your wish is Tecmo's command.
No matter how you want to look at it, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus is a hard sell. Being the fourth rendition of a game originally released in 2004, chances are if you have an interest in the title you already own it in its proper home console form. If by some off chance you still don't own it, the Vita version probably isn't your best choice, mainly because the excruciatingly difficult game doesn't lend itself to quick burst, portable play, especially with its infrequent save points. If that isn't enough to scare you away, the full retail price surely will.
Over 2 Million games have been sold as well.
G4 is reporting that Sony has sold 1.2 million units worldwide since its first launch in Japan two months ago and its recent launch in North America last week. Given the system's struggle in Japan, this comes as good news for Sony.
A reality show is also in the works.
The PlayStation Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken is getting 12 extra characters not yet announced for the console versions. In addition to the previously announced Sony exclusive characters, Pac-Man, Cole, Toro, Kuro, and Box-Art Mega Man, Capcom is also including Street Fighter's Elena, Guy, Cody, Sakura, Dudley and Blanka, and Tekken's Alisa, Christie, Jack, Brian, Lars and Lei.
