It's a shift in a very positive direction.
The 3DS version of Snake Eater has been moved around quite a bit since its announcement at the 2011 Tokyo Game Show. Originally scheduled for a December 2011 release, the game was pushed back to March 8, 2011 in November to iron out some bugs and prep the game to be compatible with Nintendo’s Circle Pad Pro. Now the date is shifting again, but this time it’s going in a much more favorable direction.

CES 2012 is now underway and Microsoft's CES press conference yielded some announcements. One of the biggest announcements was the release date for Kinect for Windows. Coming on February 1, 2012, 200 companies, including Toyota, Mattell and American Express, are already developing apps for the motion control peripheral.

Tonight marked the beginning of CES 2012 with keynote speeches from various hardware developers. At Sony's conference, Sony Computer Entertainment President Kaz Hirai announced that Netflix and Music Unlimited are coming to the PlayStation Vita.
The promotion includes Alan Wake's American Nightmare and I Am Alive.
Microsoft is promoting a few Xbox Live Arcade titles with its second annual House Party. A trailer for House Party 2012 has been released on the Xbox Live Marketplace and it shows the titles included in this promotion: Alan Wake's American Nightmare, Warp, Nexuiz, and I Am Alive.
Next week you'll be able to get a taste of the sequel to 2010's most controversial RPG.
The Final Fantasy XIII-2 demo will be hitting Xbox Live and PSN next week. North American PSN users will get the demo on January 10 and Xbox Live users will see it a day later on January 11. The full game releases about two weeks later on January 31, so this gives gamers plenty of time to test it out.
Firaxis states the new title is already in the works.
XCom is a franchise that, until two years ago, many assumed was dead and gone. In 2010, however, longtime fans rejoiced at headlines that revealed a new title was in the works. In most cases, though, this excitement only lasted as long as it took to read the article under those headlines, which revealed that this latest entry would actually be a first person shooter instead of an overhead strategy game. Internet outrage soon followed.
