In just 16 days, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has made $1 billion. This surpasses a record set by James Cameron's 2009 film Avatar, which grossed $1 billion in 17 days. A job listing on Gamasutra reveals that Sledgehammer Games is looking for a Senior Online Engineer for work on an upcoming title in the Call of Duty series. It is unknown what the next installment in the franchise will be but some rumors suggest a sequel to Black Ops. The listing originally redirected to Activision's site but that has been pulled, although the job listing remains.

Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling announced on Twitter that over 1600 bans have been given out to those who cheat in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The bans were issued to stop "Any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch" the game.

In now the second story about Modern Warfare violence, a man in Colorado became very angry after his local Best Buy screwed up his Modern Warfare 3 pre-order. Lomorin Sar, a 31-year-old man, started asking employees what time they were done working so he could shoot them in the parking lot as they left. Then, for good measure, he threatened to blow up the store.
