A patent filed in late 2011 reveals that Sony is working on its own version of Microsoft's Kinect peripheral. The patent is for a "USER-DRIVEN THREE-DIMENSIONAL INTERACTIVE GAMING ENVIRONMENT", which involves plugging a camera into a PlayStation device and using it to track a person's movement and positioning in a 3D space.

In response to developer and customer requests, Nintendo developed and will release what they have called the Circle Pad Pro peripheral. This attachment supplies the 3DS with a second analog stick as well as two additional shoulder buttons. Nintendo had already indicated that the peripheral will be made available in North America on February 7th and that they will also offer a bundle that will package together the device and Resident Evil: Revelations which debuts the same day and will support the second stick.
A leak on the Playstation site reveals the peripheral before being taken down.
Earlier this year at E3, Irrational Games Creative Director Ken Levine announced that Bioshock Infinite would support the PlayStation Move peripheral for the PlayStation 3 version of the game. Today, Apple has announced the death of their former CEO, Steve Jobs, at age 56. Jobs was one of the founders of Apple Corporation, and recently stepped down from his position at Apple for health reasons. While Jobs is most widely known as a leader with Apple's computer and portable hardware, he was also involved in many entertainment-based companies, including Pixar. Jobs led Apple as it developed many classic and modern computers, from the Apple II desktop all the way to the iPad and iPhone.

Last night, scans from the new Famitsu magazine have confirmed the rumor that a second circle pad peripheral is coming to the 3DS. According to the article, the peripheral was spurred by a port of Monster Hunter Tri, Monster Hunter 3 G. In addition to adding a circle pad, the peripheral will bring a second R trigger button, adding further functionality to the system.
