Pixlbit, how are you good people doing on this fine morning? Here in Sunny Southern California ITS FREAKING HOT! There is no such thing as Spring, as we went from the nice Winter weather to almost hitting triple digits. The one positive about this (yeah there is one) is that I can leave for the midweek/weekend Swapmeet a half hour later and the sun is still out and most of the vendors are already set up. I have some cool stuff to share on Friday!

So yesterday was Wrestlemania and I have to say that was BY FAR the best event I’ve seen in a really long time. Holy cow there was so much going on and a couple of times I may have said “OH SH*T” and my favorite moment was when the crowd started chanting “Ronda’s Gonna Kill You” when Ronda Rousey was in the ring. This easily justifies subscribing to the WWE Network. More on this on Friday as well.

Anyways so the past week of games have been well a bit hit and miss for me. Nothing was taken off of Mount Backlog, and in face I added to it but it’s all in fun because I am enjoying what I am playing. Anyways lets get caught up on what I have been playing.

NBA 2K14 – PS4

The Super Knicks are in the second round of the playoffs. The first round was uneventful with a sweep of the Chicago Bulls. The first game of the second round is against the Wizards and they always seem to give me problems because they are big inside and seem to always out rebound me, and like to slow down the fast break. I like to get a lot of points from fast breaks but they seem to slow everything down. The Super Knicks won game 1 by 10 but it was a lot closer until the final minute when they went on a run.

Lego Movie Videogame – PS4

I popped this in I think Saturday and played through the first two levels. Its interesting playing this version after playing the Vita version because the levels are a lot longer and the build a set mechanic is a little different. I’m not in a real hurry to play through this game although it would be nice to get another Platinum but that’s not really important.

Mad Riders – PS3

This is one of the .99 cent games I bought last week and think of it as an ATV clone with less features. It’s a PSN game so for you trophy hunters no Platinum but it’s a solid racing game. I still can’t get that hold down before jumping mechanic right but other than that its your basic quad racing game. Drifting, and collecting tokens fills up the turbo and there are special tokens that open up shortcuts. Everything is based on the star system and every race you can earn up to three stars. Earn enough stars and it unlocks a new group of levels. Not a bad racing game, and it has enough frills, jumps, and a sense of speed to keep any racing fan busy

Ferrari The Race Experience – PS3

Another .99 cent game I tried and this one I just touched on for a couple of minutes to get an idea of what I am in for. It reminds me a lot of the Ferrari game on the Dreamcast except this game won’t let me get out of first person view. I don’t have a visual problem with FP Racing games like FPS, but I just don’t like the view. This might be my first dud of the .99 cent games.

Who Wants To Be A Millionaire – PS3

So I got a bit cocky playing through it the first time as you remember from my Quick Hits blog, so I played it again, and didn’t use any lifelines and got to the middle of the board and lost. It was on a question about a certain type of bird that eats bees. I did my Spelling Bee thing where I broke the word down and thought it meant Spiders. Oh well.

Asphalt 2 – Nintendo DS on the 3DS XL

I played through the remaining races on the third from the last tier of Tournament races while sitting in a waiting room and sitting on the 91 Freeway (I absolutely HATE this freeway.) I now only have the two tiers left and it wouldn’t be as much of a chore to play through them if the game didn’t reuse the same three or four tracks. I think I finished one race while half asleep in the waiting room.

Simpsons Tapped Out – iPad

I finished the super hero storyline where you send all the Springfield superheroes to beat up the Radioactive Man Monument and release Radioactive Man

This Superhero storyline was a lot of fun because there was a lot to collect and unlock. I still need about 2 thousand friend points to unlock the Canyonero but I did unlock the Homer. I can’t wait for the next Tapped Out community event.

WWE Immortals – iPad

For Wrestlemania the intro screen changed for Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar along with a new tournament

The new gold character is the Macho Man…OHHHH YEEEAAAHHHHH!!! There is also a new Stone Cold fighter. I might buy this character and Randy Orton because I don’t have them in my collection yet. I’m currently working on unlocking Macho Man because I need more Gold Level fighters to finish off the final group of levels to complete the tournament mode of this game.

Spider-man Unlimited – iPad

I probably mentioned this already but the game had an update which included issue #5 in the story mode, added some new running environments and updated the layout.

Star Wars Rebels – iPad

Star Wars Rebels was a game I spotted in the iTunes Store and gave it a try. It’s like the X-Men game where you have a left and right buttons on the bottom left of the screen while your action buttons are on the bottom right. To shoot at enemies you touch the enemy while hitting the action button. It’s a little clunky

Its your run of the mill side scroller on a tablet with the side mission of collecting the three hidden items. Since its on a tablet there are in game purchases which the app warns you about but doesn’t constantly remind you to buy upgrades which is nice. I’m still undecided if I want to continue with this game. I like the series but I know there are better games to spend my time on.

The final game I was a little excited to try because the movie is coming out later this week

Oh you know I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Fast & Furious is back with a mashup of a couple of tablet mainstay games set within the Fast & Furious Universe. You get a bit of the drag racing games as well the runner games both are well represented in every app store.

Controls are simple. For the “runner” portion the left screen moves the car to the left side of the screen, the right for the right side. In drag racing the gas peddle is on the right, along with the shift. On the left side is the launch and nitrous buttons.

This wouldn’t be a Fast & Furious game without upgrading your cars with gaudy decals and supped up upgrades to your vehicle.

In story mode you can pick between Dom’s family or the fun bad guys from the films. I went with Dom’s side because I know more of the quotes from that side….THIS IS BRAZIL *stretches out arms

The game is your typical freemium game where you are only limited by a certain number of races before the oil needs to be changed. If you create a crew you are rewarded with a second car. When you win races you earn three types of rewards: the regular currency, wrench time, and gold premium currency.

To upgrade your vehicle you can use a combination of regular currency and wrench time or go instant update with the gold. Checking in everyday gives you a chance to win more gold or a car. You can trade up to better and faster cars which I should do but I’m still trying to upgrade my stable of two cars (no gaudy paint or decals.)

The game isn’t great but I do like the movie franchise so I play it but only once a day.

Alright Pixlbit I am off to catch up on some projects that need to be finished, and read your blogs. Have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I saw a few posts about Wrestlemania on Facebook. Apparently she wore an over 9000 shirt.

You can't go wrong with some tablet games especially if you don't spend any cash on them.

Haha yep, I think I've played that game for about a year now. Simpsons Tapped Out I think I've been playing for three years, maybe longer. I used to talk about it alot on 1Up.
