Hello Pixlpeeps. It is Tuesday and I am getting a late start to this latest entry. I actually forgot yesterday and earlier while eating I remembered so I figured why not get my entry started now. I have to admit most of my gaming the past week has been casual games but I did play on the console for a bit.

First off after I write about my Memo Pad last week I decided to root it to take advantage of some of the useful apps that let me move some of the bigger files to the SD card and keep the precious internal storage free

 

I brought back the Nova Launcher I bought a while back for the Nexus 7, and went back to a layout I used to have on the N7. The only drawback is that I can’t use the Nova Launcher as the default launcher because ASUS wants me to use their launcher. It isn’t bad, I just prefer the Nova Launcher. The two big apps I use are the SD Maid Pro and FolderMount. Maid Pro is a cleaner that searches through the internal and external storage and cleans out orphaned files, and other items that take up space. I cleaned up at least 1.5 GB when I first ran it. FolderMount is the lifesaver for the 16GB internal storage. What the app does is that it moves the big files that apps have and moves it to the SD Card. It then connects that file to the app so when you run the app it thinks everything is in one place. This is perfect for games because they have huge data files.

 

This is the current situation on the Memo Tab. I have 6 GB free (I think I have less since I moved a couple of files) and around 22 GB free on the SD card. I still need to move more files to the SD card, and at some point I will move my library of books to the SD card.

 

The final tablet update is I switched out the lock screen. I’m using Widget Locker, which is a good app because of all the different customizations. If I had an Android phone I would get a lot of use out of this this app along with Nova Launcher.

 

September Recap

Well in September it looks like either I didn’t start a lot of new games or I forgot to add them to my list on Evernote. I finished two games last month, Horizon Chase, which was a good game and Driver Renegade, which was not so good. I think by the end of the month I will probably finish the main story for Lego Dimensions and probably the Level Packs, right around the time the new Level Packs are released.

 

 

Chris Plays…

Lego Dimensions – PS4: I’ve been tackling a level each time I fire up the game because the levels are long. They feel longer than a normal Lego game and getting the Lego stud meter take a lot more Lego studs than normal. The puzzles are still fun to figure out and can be done with the Starter Pack figures but it its nice to have the extra add-on figures to help out. I haven’t upgraded fully upgraded a vehicle yet, but I have added most to Homer’s car (the Batmobile isn’t being used). I just find it funny to have Batman riding around in a pink car. Last night I left off on one level with one section left which is usually the battle against the level boss.

 

Need for Speed No Limits – iPad: Last week this game was officially released and I wanted to play this on my Memo Pad but the game wouldn’t work so I am playing it on the iPad. NFS No Limits is the latest freemium game where every race costs an amount of gas. There is a limit of 10 gas containers a player has before you wait a couple of hours while it refills. The positive about this game is that at every level the gas is automatically refilled. The first day I played the game I leveled up to Level 7 or 8 in one play through.

 

 

The setup is your usual racing game. You can race in different events, check out the latest freebies, upgrade you vehicles, and unlock new content when hitting certain level milestones.

 

 

There are different races, everything from straight up racing against the AI, against the clock, and avoiding police

 

 

After each race you earn in game currency by doing various things like getting airborne, drifting, slipstreaming, etc.

 

 

You also earn rewards by completing each race. It can be money, parts upgrades, and blueprints. Collect enough blueprints and you unlock a new vehicle.

 

The garage is where you find all your current cars and blueprints. This is also where you can upgrade your vehicles. I’ve noticed the price to upgrade isn’t as much as other racing games, which are always good because that slows down game progression.

So far I really like this game I want to see how it is once I progress into the higher levels and see if I am able to continue playing at extended periods of time without wasting all of my gasoline.

 

Simpsons Tapped Out – iPad: I’ve decided to update my town so right now it looks like a big mess. I’ve started the upgrade from the back moving forwards and I’ve finished two and a half lines

 

It’s a lot cleaner than my previous setup. Hopefully I can get the entire town finished by the end of the week. Holy cow, I think the last time I used to piece together screenshots was when I first started playing this game. 

 

Ridge Racer Slipstream – Memo Pad: I started this game up again and this time my goal is to finish the game. I played through most of the rookie campaign and I’m waiting just to move up to the next group of races. I upgraded all the cars which helps ALOT, especially when trying to advance to the stage of races.

 

 

I saw that Tales from Borderlands was free on the 360 so I figured why not and tried to order it online to download to the 360

 

Looks like Microsoft is forcing me to do it on the console because there is no way I am going to have my credit card associated with a gaming system. If the game is free why isn't there a free button I can hit?
