Pixlpeeps how’s it going? I hope the week has treated you well, and it is time to sit back and enjoy the weekend! Any fun plans? I’m thinking about maybe sorting my Lego out and fixing any damaged buildings my cousin’s little kid did to my sets. I also have to replace the heads she took off the minifigures. Let’s get started with Quick Hits!
Adventures In Phone Service
So on Wednesday around 3pm Pacific I got a random text and I knew something was wrong. It was a six digit number from a five digit number which means it was from a company. Around 5pm I realized that my phone number has been changed without my permission so this is the Cliffs Notes version of the events that took place:
7:00pm: I called my provider and after 30 minutes of the run around where they said I okayed the number change (nope), tried to blame my phone (it’s an unlocked phone just like every phone they sell so nope), I was told to shut the phone off, restart it and if it still doesn’t change in an hour call them back.
8:00pm: Still no change, they can see that my phone number has been deactivated, and my phone is not in the system (funny how they can see that yet had no problem changing it). We finally get to the point where they will send me a SIM card. The guy was an AHole and I know they get paid per call so I purposely got him talking in circles for 40 minutes so he’s losing out on cash. Suck it AHole! I was told the new SIM card would be here by Friday
Next Morning
8:00am: I called to make sure AHole didn’t screw me over and the order has been placed. This time the rep said it will take 5 days (say what?) BUT here’s the big but, I can go to Walmart and get a new Sim. Sounds good
8:30am: I drop $60 for the activation kit, which comes with a month of service along with a variety of sim cards. I call back and at this point the new rep said that I was given wrong information (SAY WHAT?). At this point she goes on to tell me that my number was given back to my old carrier and I could no longer get it back. I’m livid at this point and I keep this woman on the phone for an hour. At one point I get her to acknowledge that nobody there knows what they are talking about. I refused to be put on hold because they will hang up on me, and when she said I could return the package I bought at Walmart I called BS and then read her what it says on the box and asked her, “Who’s lying, you or Walmart?” I then proceeded to ask her “Who’s lying your reps or me” when it came to the bad information? Each question I asked ultimately led to me demanding that I get a new phone number on my current Sim.
9:30am: Her boss comes on the phone and tries to muscle me off the phone with “Sir, there is nothing we can do.” At this point it was go time, and I got this yahoo to basically say that they have no idea what they are doing. She kept saying the phone is at fault in which I asked: Do you understand what an unlocked phone is? Your store rep and an Apple rep both said it will be fine, so who’s lying to me: them or you? I could hear the frustration/being overwhelmed in her voice so it was time to move in for the big blow: I demanded them to acknowledge their mistake, and I took over the conversation. Each time she tried to change the subject I brought it back on track with “I don’t want your apology, I want you to acknowledge you messed up” Once that was resolved I asked for how are we going to resolve this situation. I got her to acknowledge that they Walmart or them will probably not give me a refund, and then after all the hoopla the one thing they couldn’t do, they finally did: they gave me a new number on my current Sim. She said and I quote “We cannot put a new number on this Sim card.” I responded with “You did it the first time, give me a new number.” Each time she tried her response, I said the same thing. Since she was on the clock at this point she had no choice, and with a frustrated/angry sigh she did some computer magic and I got a new number. At this point I wanted to annoy them when I said “If you would have done this five minutes into this conversation, you and your rep wouldn’t have any problems.”
So in all of this mess I’m out $15, I’m giving my brother the month of service because of the options, and I will most likely join a new carrier once my month is up. I love month-to-month service but this is by far the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. I’m sad I lost a number I’ve had for a decade, but what can you do?
Chris Watches…
Star Wars: I went to watch it last Sunday at the swanky new theater here where you order tickets online, pick your seat, and the seats are like Lazy-Boy recliners.
That's My foot!
This show was almost sold out again, but I got a decent seat (good not great) and I was off back to a Galaxy Far Far Away. Oh I had so much fun with this movie, because it felt like a natural sequel to the original trilogy. There were some funny moments, and a lot of moments where you cheer. There were a couple of things I would have changed including this one *Black Bar Mode for the next sentence
It would have been more dramatic if Kylo would only remove his helmet once and that would be on the bridge talking to Han.
I can’t wait for the second flick!
Chris Listens To…
In my iTunes Music Progress, last week I said I was at 15,041 unlistened to music tracks in my library and at this point this is my progress
I also added 5 mixtapes, and 1 remix to the library. Currently on my iPod I have maybe 60 songs from my list that I’ve listened to over the past week, and maybe 20 songs on my iPhone. I like to think I am at a good pace to listen to every song in my library before the year is up.
Randoms:
So I became a year older in number and I was treated to a swanky Steak Dinner
This ribeye was so good, and after the waiter said that the plate was hot, I left my fork on it and then put it in my mouth. Not my finest moment…HAHAHA.
Guess who’s taking another online course?
I have some new writing material and I had my first section earlier this week. The class is called American Prophit: The Inner Life and Global Vision of Martin Luther King, Jr. and so far the first section covered his early life and why he became a pastor.
Here’s my Quiz score. There was a glitch in the system where one of the questions said I was wrong, but when I hit the other options, it said they were wrong too. When I went back and selected my original answer it became correct. The quiz doesn’t mean much because after a wrong answer it tells you where to go in the section and then it will offer to show you the answer. At the end of the course you get a little certificate, which is cool. I like joking with my friends that I’m earning another degree from Stanford (I took a Computer Course a year ago) and best part is this class is free.
Pickups
Games
No Games this week. I’m keeping with my goal of not buying unless I’m going to play it right away. Next week will be a busy Lego week for me.
Music
From the good people of Google Play there are three albums to check out
There is a lot of classic rock singles on this album, and a couple of new songs will be added to my library.
I’m not a fan of either the Grateful Dead or Adam Lambert but I will give them a listen and who knows I’ll find a song or two I like.
Lego
I finally find the First Order Battle Pack on shelves. I do love Battle Packs for minifigures because this is a great way to get a collection of certain figures for your Lego collection. I built up a nice size Police Force, and Storm Troopers by picking these up and I am excited to have the First Order Stormtroopers in the collection.
Alright Pixlbit I am off to run some errands and pickup a burrito for breakfast. Have a good weekend! My plans are to catch up with the blogs here on this awesome site!
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
For this week’s song I thought I’d share a song I found while listening to unlistened to tracks in my music library. I’m not a huge Country Music fan but I think Brad is one hell of a guitarist and it was fun listening to this song. It is so much fun that I think it will live on my music devices with my other favorites. I should check to see if this is on Guitar Hero. Have a good weekend!

i loved the new star wars. i haven't enjoyed a movie that much since I was a kid.
Damn man, you told those phone people who's boss. That sounds like an utter nightmare. That would have left me pissed for days if I had to deal with that.
did you see the Batman '66 lego set they just unveiled. So expensive though!

Star Wars is such a fun flick. Its still in theaters here, but I'll just wait for it to pop up on video (I guess the current term is on Blu-ray) before I watch it again.
I hate that service. Oh there's a part II to my story. Did I mention I HATE that service?

I went to see the new Star Wars movie with my family on opening night at a swanky theater, too! The seats reclined and had foot rests, and we got to eat Star Wars themed food off the menu. It was one of those places where they serve you food while you watch the movie. I got the "Dark Sliders."
The Star Wars movie had a lot of vehicles and characters that would make cool toys. My favorite vehicle was the thing that Rey rode in the desert that looked like a giant fudgesicle. You know what I'm talking about? I saw a toy of it at Fry's, but I didn't get it since I don't have a job right now and don't need to be spending too much money. I also didin't get the Gamera movie collection even though it was ten bucks. Willpower!
Speaking of Fry's, I went there to get old Vita games because a long time ago, Fry's used to carry lots of PSP games and other older games, so I thought they might have old Vita games, too. Well, Fry's is a shell of their former glory because they hardly had any Vita games, or older games in general. All the games on the shelves were only from the past couple of months. And they didn't have very many. In fact, they had more shelf space dedicated to Nintendo plush toys than actual Nintendo GAMES!
Anyway, I just got done writing my review of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens pinball games from Zen Pinball. If you like pinball and Star Wars, you might want to check them out!

Star Wars food sounds good. Yeah I know the toy you're talking about. When I bought the Micro Machines blind bags, I got it, and I bought my friend's son the Lego version. After watching the flick I wanted one for myself and it seems its sold out everywhere.
I used to love buying from Fry's. Back when having a CD Burner was the big thing, they used to sell the 50 CD Spindle for like $3, and I used to stock up. I always thought their game selection was on the thin side, but every so often they'd have some great sales.

I love that photo of the lego figure siting down. I like the way the shallow depth of field highlights the character.

Thanks! That picture came out pretty good for a phone camera.

The Grand Prairie theater near my parents got those seats now; went to The Big Short in those reserved Lazeboys.
Looks like Google PLay's freebies have changed up a bit; was wanting to get those classic rock tunes but oh well.
Glad you gave the phone company crap for their crap; what provider was it?
Most importantly, where did you get that steak?! Holy shit!

I dig those theaters. This might replace my little ghetto theater I've been going to mainly for the reserve seats.
That's the thing with Google Play, their freebie music seems to be completely random and there is no real timeline for them.
Oh there's more crap from that provider. It is Straight Talk and a Quick Hits Spoiler: I'm no longer with them.
The steak is from a local swanky steakhouse. I've never had bad food at this place!

Start working at home with Google! It's by-far the best job I've had. Last Wednesday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 4 weeks past. I began this 8-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $77 per hour. I work through this link, go to tech tab for work detail. +_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+ http://www.buzznews99.com

Hell yeah, but if I did that I'd take a pay cut. Last Tuesday I bought a brand new Tesla because I found a way to work even less at home and make crazy money. You're working too hard qay00349
