Good morning Pixlpeeps and happy Tuesday! It’s a short week here and I am ready to go. Yesterday was all about adding 7” singles to my iTunes library with some gaming sprinkled in. I don’t know if I mentioned it but I found my Vita’s charging cable. I had to fix the date on my Vita and after that it was all about cleaning up some of the PS+ items I can’t use because I’m no longer part of the service. At some point I’ll get a month pass and download my game saves. I wasn’t taking full advantage of the service because I wasn’t playing everything they offered and I wasn’t playing online so it was kind of pointless for me to keep this service.

I’ve been playing a lot on my laptop and last week there was a couple of games that I bought that were I believe at least 50% off if not more than retail. The first game is

Just Cause 3 – Steam

I heard that there were a lot of problems with this game from frame rate drops to incompatibility and other headaches. I wanted to play this game because I enjoyed JC2 so my goal was to wait for a price drop and Amazon had two glitches in their price where the game dropped to $15 on two separate days. I jumped on the second day and after a 50 GB download it was time to see if the game would actually run on my laptop.

The game works fine on my laptop. All the graphics settings are on high, but the framerate is around 40-50 instead of that 60fps sweet spot, but the most important thing is that I can play the game, and it looks good. I’ve been running around blowing stuff up and I’ve been told I should try the side missions so I can upgrade my gear. I didn’t know that there were some mods for this game that make it more enjoyable but I will hold off on those until I finish the game’s story mode.

Funny thing about this game is that it won’t recognize my Logitech controller but the PS3 controller works fine.

NBA 2K16 Michael Jordan Edition – Steam

This game was also on sale on Friday. The retail I believe was $80 but this site I saw on r/gamedeals had it for $22, and $20 if you were a first time customer. I got it for $20 and another hefty 50GB and I was ready to continue the basketball experience. Instead of going with MyGM like I’ve been playing on the PS4, I went with MyLeague where you just play the game without having to do the funky GM stuff (you still get a small taste but don’t have a terrible owner who constantly wants to draft Centers.) I went with the Fantasy Draft and for this game I went with the Los Angeles Lakers. My first pick

was LeBron James. I got Kobe in the 4th and at the time I thought I had a solid team

I also had Mike Conley at Point Guard and Andrew Bogut at Center but I traded those two for Brooke Lopez, Center, and Michael Carter-Williams, PG. I wanted the upgrade at Center and it was a bit of a step down at PG, but I had LeBron bringing the ball up the court anyways so it wasn’t a big deal. So far I am in game 5 or 6 in Year 1 of my Dynasty. The Lakers are undefeated.

NBA 2K15 – PS4

In my other basketball game, the Milwaukee Bucks have finished their first game in the playoffs blowing out Charlotte. The Bucks’ own Jabari Parker won MVP, Jamil Okafor Rookie of the Year, random coach as Coach of the Year, and my created GM Johnny Kilroy (named after the Nike commercials) is the GM of the Year. I don’t know if I will keep this game on the hard drive once I win the NBA Championship especially since I now have the new game on PC.

Lego Marvel Avengers: Marvel Agents of SHIELD DLC – PS4

I went to download the free Spider-Man character pack when I saw this in the PS Store and quickly downloaded it. If you watch the show, the scenery for this level is Season Two’s Season Finale, and it was a lot of fun playing with Minifigure versions of the show’s characters. I haven’t went back to collect all the minikits and I’ll probably make a huge run on all of the last three DLC’s trophies later on this week. I’m just not excited to play through Lego games.

Other game stuff: I bought a 360 game I want to try out later on this week, as well as continue with games I’ve started this month, play some baseball on the Vita, and to update my game list.

Alright Pixlbit I am off. I have stuff to do so have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

OK, I'm excited about the Agents of SHIELD dlc. Especially if I can play as Melinda May. Maybe that's what I'll spend that $50 gift card to GameStop that I got for Christmas on. The gme, not the dlc. I still don't have the game itself.

The Calvery is the character you use in the Story Mode. I'd wait a bit on the game, hopefully it drops to $20 soon especially since Star Wars is coming I think next week.

Can you make your own players in NBA2K? Could I make a team of crazy dudes?

Yeah I believe 2K has the create a player. I did it one year where I created myself in actual height.

So many Lego games have been on sale on Xbox live lately. I want to play them, but I'll wait to buy them until I have the time regardless of how low the price is.

I've run into Lego sales on PC too. A part of me says I should buy them because they're so cheap, but another part wants me to stick to playing games on the PC I haven't played yet. Of course throw on top of that is the fact I really don't want to play a Lego game right now.
