So this is week two for Coachella and I refuse to leave my house because the Coachella kids suck at driving. Let's recap last week: the family went back to Hawaii and I decided to go out because to run some errands and do my usual of check out what's going on a Walmart (you did this to me Target when you decided to close your doors at my favorite store) and I ran into these folks. We had rich guy in Porsche (I'm in the Porshaaa camp, because I've always said it this way and one of my former professors who restores them also said this was the correct way to say it) who was going super slow in the fast lane, while on the phone, another guy who decided that the intersection was the perfect time to change lanes, and my personal favorite guy who doesn't understand the concept of a four way stop honks at you because you took your turn and didn't let him skip. Granted I live in a small town and a lot of the Coachella kids probably look down on it because they're from LA, SD, or any other big city but common sense on the roads people! It's not that hard. Anyways let's get started.

Chris Watches...

Let's be real, this period and the summer, TV is going to suck and since my go to superhero shows are currently in another mini break before their season finales I've been forced to look for other items to watch. I refuse to watch all the shows about Alaska, more alien theories, and whatever garbage History Channel passes off as decent content. Instead I've been watching Netflix.

I'm still excited Voltron (the good old show, not that new garbage) even though my cousin says its Anime. I checked out the beginning of Spartacus or what I like to call 300/Gladiator the TV Series. I can see why some folks call it Game of Thrones for Starz and if GoT spent less of their budget on dragons and more on nude extras it would be the same thing. The only time I've heard Jo Koy's comedy is on the Adam Carolla Show so watching his special was a change but I really enjoyed it. Dude is funny. I intend to watch more Netflix this weekend.

The Ten Commandments – ABC: Ok so I own this on Blu-ray but when it comes on every Easter you know I'm watching. It's a great story (I'm talking about it as a story, and no religious connections so calm down before some folks get offended) but what makes this movie even better is that Moses actively trolls Ramses at every point. Hey let's dedicate the Nile, oh hey here's Moses. Let's hang out on the royal balcony, oh hey here's Moses. How bad is the royal guard? Every time something goes against Pharaoh, Moses is there. How about throwing him in jail, or better yet kicking him out of Egypt. The even better plot point is when Moses frees everybody and they're traveling and Moses goes to the mount, and the people that he freed don't even listen to him, and listen to the crazy Governor who helped keep them as slaves. What kind of crazy is this? Anyways love this movie, the effects are crazy bad but quaint and its an Easter tradition for me.

Chris Listens To...

Yeah I'm still not back in the groove of 50 songs a day. This might be my write off month where I listen to as much as I can and then next month get back on track. I have however been listening to a lot of my regular music on my phone when out and about and for the most part my playlist there hasn't failed me. I would like to start listening to more of what's on the radio even though most of the new rap I find to be trash.

Randoms

Hey Walmart this is not Playboy

Kate Upton in a bikini does not need the cover like Playboy used to have before they went with the bags. Yes Walmart you sell ammo for weapons but you refuse to sell albums with cuss words and have to censor magazines of women in BIKINIS!

For you Streetwear/Sneakerheads you saw that Supreme had their big sale and this is one of the items they were selling

You can put legit money in the gun and then make it rain. Why do people need this? They don't. The hype is the fact that it says Supreme. They have put their name on random things like a fire extinguisher, random glassware, Subway Fare Cards, and a brick. Yes a brick. I'm not going to lie I do own one piece of Supreme apparel but that's when they collaborated with Jordan for a special Supreme Jordan V. (I got those shoes purely on accident)

Pickups

Games

Oh there were a lot of games. First off: people in Texas, apparently some Walmarts were clearance out Xbox 1, PS4, PS3, and other games for as little as a buck. Here in California, no such luck however I did find a couple of items for super cheap

I have a copy for $3

For $5 and mainly for the reason that it will stay on a shelf. Actually I might give it another try on a slow weekend.

For a combined $4 Duck Dynasty and Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader. I've played a lot of 5th Grader, and I'll talk about that on Monday.

*random tangent

I just got a call from New Mexico. Usually I get these calls because the people who used to have this number lived in NM, and its reminders to vote from volunteers, take surveys about voting (I guess they were really active in the Democratic Party in NM, so good for them) anyways its a call that says NM so I usually tell them that I'm not the person they're looking for, I live in California, they apologize and we both go on our way. Really nice people in New Mexico. This time it says NM but it was a call center in India and they were trying to sell me something from the jump. This is where I get stern (the fun happens) and when guy says Good Evening Sir my name is...I promptly respond with “State Your Business.” This throws them off a bit from their script, and then they start selling whatever. I say not interested, which is the usual polite way of saying hang up. Guy doubles down (it gets fun) and says “before you go, let me tell....and I respond with “Hey I said NOT.INTRESTED.” He decides to hang up.

Back to Pickups!

Here's a bunch of shovelware/old PC games that were $1-2 each with the most expensive being $5

APB doesn't let me login to create an account. I think the game is dead. That's disappointing but I need to check the internet to see if I can still play it or else that's $5 down the drain.

From GameStop I bought this PC game for $1.97

I actually want to play this one and thank goodness it has a Steam code.

Final game I paid for

I guess I'm building a BlazBlue collection

Some freebies floating out in the internets

And my cousin gave me his pre-order bonus from buying Lego City Undercover for the Switch

Music

Because I'm not in the mood to listen to the unplayed stuff in my library I went to listen to Eminem's Marshall Mathers LP and I was shocked/surprised/disappointed to learn that the CD I bought a couple of years ago was the clean version. After a couple of clicks on Amazon I fixed that and I added another Em CD to the library

It was one of those hey the albums are cheap let's get one I didn't own. I think I am only missing maybe three of his albums before I have all the studio releases.

Toys

Two separate trips to Walmart

I couldn't remember if I already have the red and black version of that Batmobile so I bought another one just in case. As for the '89 Batmobile in gray my cousin and I were roaming around Walmart one night when we saw an employee filling the pegs with new cases. We waited until she went to fill the bin with new cars before hitting the pegs and I found the Batmobile. I should have looked for other special cars, but I only really want the Batmobile.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. I fixed Lego City Undercover, and since it is the start to my 3 day weekend I am going to play that today. Have a good weekend!

That's all for now, more later!

-Chris

For my song of the week, here's one I've had on repeat for the past couple of days. So much 80s goodness here. Have a good weekend!

Goddamn man you got song of the deep for $2.  Good job!

I am not very religious, but I'm a sucker for Biblical epics, to be honest.  Ben Hur is great.

I even like the one with Paul Newman where he's a sculptor trying to sculpt the face of Jesus, and then there's Simon the Magus up to no good...  I don't remember the name of that one. Like I said, I'm not religious, but I'm just a sucker for the time period.

Yeah I watched that game fall from $14 to $2. When it didn't pop up on the app I figured someone already bought it, but when we went inside my cousin spotted it, and I'm happy. I shall now wait for the other PC games to drop like a stone.

You know I've never seen Ben Hur. I need to add that to the library. As for the other flick I think I know what you're talking about but its another flick I've never seen. Something about the cup from the Last Supper.

Ben Hur is great.  Some parts a little too Jesus for me, but the rest of it more than makes up for it.

If they look down on you for living in a small town, it's just more reason to run them over.

Netflix really is the way to go. I'm waiting for season 3 of Flash to show up there. I'm gonna watch Ghost in the Shell original 25 year anniversary version on hulu later.

Some friends and I were joking the title of my Netflix comdey special would be Lower Your Expectations, since I did do a bit on that the most recent time I did an open mic.

The only new rap I like is Kendrick Lamar and before that it was just Macklemore. Lyrics just aren't a part of the new stuff really, and it's sad. I hate Migos.

I need to slap a random logo over a woman's bikini on a tee shirt and sell it at Wal Mart ...

The most recent sales call I got sounded like a legit Royal Cruise thing, but I wasn't about to pay the $60 port fee then and there to secure the trip. They were open about the fact they wanted me to do it so I could post stuff on Facebook and Instagram and advertise for them.

I need some Eminem albums, but my CD library is so white I've become self-conscious about it. I already have Macklemore as the only rap artist in there, so I'll probably buy Biggie or something before someone looks through my collection and thinks I wear a white hood on weekends or something.

Yeah that's why I avoid going out. I did have to deal with some of it on Monday when they were all leaving town.

The thing I like with Netflix is that I can go watch something for five minutes, switch to something else and a couple of days later go back to what I was originally watching and not lose my spot. Besides I'm getting back into the groove of watching the standup specials.

I'm starting to come around to Kendrick. From what I've heard his new album is more radio friendly but I haven't picked it up yet.

I'm surprised Walmart hasn't done that yet. I mean why even sell CDs or magazines when they are edited or covered up. I miss having a Target close by.

Wow they want you to pay for the port charge and then talk about how you're going on a cruise? Not gonna fly with me. At least with Carnival I get the occasional flyer about coming back but nothing like that.

Hahaha get both Biggie and Em. Speaking of I need to check Amazon to see if I ordered another CD.

Duck Dynasty with Minecraft style character art. Or is it kind of paper crafty.

I haven't played it yet, but I think they're more blocky like Minecraft.
