So here we are, Friday, and I am ready to do well I don’t know what I am going to do today. I mean I could go out because it is CD Friday and I like to look for new music but at the same time I should be continuing my organizing of my digital files because that was one of my goals this year. In any case Happy Friday Pixlpeeps and let’s get started with Quick Hits.

Chris Watches…

  • I have to say over the past week I’ve been thinking about canceling my Netflix account because I don’t use it as much as I should. I have a pattern where I watch Local News, have national news playing while I’m on the iPad/laptop, my game shows of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and then from this point on I will either watch whatever show I’m into on that day or do something else. I don’t normally go out of my way to power up Netflix and the two big shows I’m into I really don’t watch anymore.
  • Since I have Prime I figure if I ever want to watch something that isn’t on TV I could go there, and besides I already pay for the service by being a Prime member. I’ll wait until the end of the month to make up my mind.
  • A couple of nights ago I was watching A Few Good Men because whenever its on how do you not watch it? Anyways Tom Cruise’s character said Yoo-hoo a couple of times in the first 30 minutes or so and something stuck because the next day while grocery shopping I bought a case of Yoo-hoo. I haven’t had the stuff in years yet I went and bought a case. Thanks TV.

Did you see the Tomb Raider trailer? It looks like a live action version of the video game. I’m excited for it and I wonder how many easter eggs they will have in the movie. Anyways if you haven’t seen it here is the trailer

Chris Reads…

  • I am about ready to give up on the Fire and Fury book. It’s just not interesting, there really is no point to it (which I should have known coming into this book) and I don’t get why Hollywood wants to make it a TV Show. I am probably going to just going to say read, and hit the one or two stars on Goodreads.
  • It’s time to look for something new in my eBook/audiobook library and read something more enjoyable. Heck I still need to continue reading early Avenger comics. I also have a couple of architecture books I want to check out. Back in college I took an Architecture class and I really enjoyed it and ever since I’ve always looked for interesting books about the subject.

Chris Listens To…

2018 is odd because I am not listening to sports radio as much as I used to. Everytime I jump in the truck to go somewhere sports radio would be on. Now it’s whatever podcast I’m listening to and the only sports podcast I think I have that involves sports is Jim Rome’s podcast where it’s just the interviews. I also listen to a wrestling podcast but it sounds more like two friends recapping what they watched while making some jokes. I also subscribed to the Katie Nolan podcast but I haven’t listened to it yet because they are at the end of my playlist.

As for music hopefully if I do go out hopefully I find something new or something that replaces a digital copy I own.

Pickups! (There might be something here this week!)

Games

I bought a game this week. On the Apple Appstore I bought the unlock of this game

01

I was looking through the appstore and I saw this game. This game tests you on vocabulary words with four different quizzes. You have to hit a certain number of correct answers in each quiz to move on to the next level. I think the first two levels are free and if you buy the upgrade for $1.99 you get the full game and no ads. This is a fun game to play for a couple of minutes at a time and you learn new words from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. The only drawback is that my progress doesn’t sync between the phone and the iPad.

I became a year older and I got a new toy as a gift

02

I now have the space to backup my music library. So far my setup is like this: Format > Artist/Band by last name > Albums. Mixtapes will be in the artist folders instead of having a separate mixtape folder. I’m currently sorting through the Compilation folder because for some albums iTunes had the Various Artists option checked so it through albums by one artist/bands in there.

A couple of days ago I went to the local Hibbett Sports to buy a can of this spray that protects your sneakers from water and I left with this stuff…and the spray

03

04

I’m not a fan of either team but when their championship gear is .97 cents each I have new workout/wear around the house clothing.

So in 2018 I’ve spent a total of $6 on stuff.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off, have a good weekend!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Ok, so I was basing what I said on Twitter the other day on the first trailer, which is the only one I saw. The second trailer for Tomb Raider does look more interesting, though I wish they'd stop remaking those old songs in the exact same boring way for every damn movie trailer.

I keep thinking about starting up Netflix again. But I'm getting by with libraries for the moment.

ew.  yoohoo.  Ha ha.

I like how Tomb Raider is looking too. Plus, she's hot.  I didn't exactly love the original campy films starring the ex-Mrs. BRad Pitt.

We pretty much have all the streaming services cause my parents watch A LOT of TV. Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, but also Acorn, PBS Masterpiece, etc. There's a lot of good stuff out there, but man do my parents devour it.
