Quick Hits: No Pics But Chris Watches YouTube

You know the chore that I absolutely hate? Laundry. Don’t get me wrong I love clean clothes but I hate having to drag the laundry basket out and then sorting clothes. The past couple of years I’ve been getting dark t-shirts because of this but I still have other shirts and its pain. Anyways guess what I am currently waiting doing while typing this latest edition of Quick Hits. Yep.

Chris Watches…

YouTube

You probably know I like wasting time on YouTube watching videos on random topics. A couple of weeks ago it was all about how to pack, and then videos about people who turn buses, U-Haul trucks, etc. Into homes. Well the past couple of days I’ve been watching videos on being minimalists. Now I don’t think I’ll ever get to this point (my brother has been doing this and it works) but as someone who loves physical media it gets tough.

What I like about this topic is that people are focused on things they need and nothing more. It’s organized, everything has a purpose and its simple. I want to incorporate some of this into my life, and connecting it with the Pixlbit theme this is why I really like digital games over physical. Having the majority of my Steam library (as well as the other game clients) live on a small external hard drive is more appealing than having a mountain of games in a hallway closet. I got inspired yesterday and I started small and cleaned out the random apps on my phone and iPad. On my Android tablet has been clean for awhile but on the iOS stuff I’ve been holding onto apps that could be removed, and it feels good. After I finish writing and folding some clothes I am going to start working on other projects like cleaning out drawers, sorting through stacks of crap, etc.

Chris Reads…

It’s been a week and I still haven’t picked out a new book to read/listen. I have a couple ready to go as well as a couple of them I started but haven’t finished, but I want something new. Do I stick with Science Fiction, go back to politics, or another genre. We’ll see.

Chris Listens To…

Since I’m in this minimalist-like mood I’ve been removing tracks from my iTunes library. Now I have everything backed up so now on the iTunes is stuff I like. The new current dilemma is do I also keep my CD collection in this library as well or just whatever I like, digital stuff as well as stuff I own. Another fun project I am doing.

Pickups!

Games

I really don’t want to edit photos today so this section will have no pictures.

I picked up the physical copy of Rocket League from Walmart for $28. I had them price match their own website because in store it was $43 after taxes. I installed it last night along with the code for DLC but I haven’t played it yet. I think I might take the dock out of the packaging and give it a spin on the TV.

As you know I bought Arms, and I got it from a Switch sale through Nintendo for $42. I probably could have waited for a better sale but I like the game.

For PC games I bought a couple of bundles for $5. I think there are about 20 games total and I bought the bundle for maybe three of the games. Everything else is a bonus.

Alright Pixlpeeps I need to get back to cleaning (yay Saturday!) Have a good weekend!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I'll never go minimalist. I like the clutter.

I used to like the clutter, and to an extent I still do, but I would like to slim it down a bit. Maybe going to more digital for games is my first small step. I'll probably get rid of most of my records next and just keep what I think are "must haves"

I used to have tons of books and records. All gone now. Just games.

I give you kudos, I dont think I could go minimalist. I like to keep stuff even if Im cluttered. I hate giving stuff up unless I have to or I have no need for something.

Thanks, but I don't think I'll go full on minimalist. The idea is fun to think about but there are certain things I just like to collect and they take up space. If I can just get rid of the other items I don't really care about I think I'll be good.

I bought Rocket League like a month ago and still haven't played it!  Jeeze!

You have to play it, it's a lot of fun. Think of it as a not serious 3 vs 3 soccer game that gets competitive.
