So as I was breezing through Lego Ninjago Movie Video Game I noticed that I didn’t unlock one medal that I figured would have been unlocked by the point I was at (around 90% finished). I looked online and then I saw the dreaded “Lego glitch”. I read that if you replayed one of the last levels you may be able to fix this but when I played through it, nothing happened I knew it was time to stop playing the game because no matter what I did the game would always be 99% finished. What’s the point of grinding with races, and finding gold bricks if I’m rewarded with a 99 instead of 100% completed? After this fun it was time to take a break from the Switch and go back to the PC and good thing because I have a couple of games I bought that combined were under $8 so it’s time for another Gaming on the Cheap.

 

Agents Of Mayhem - Steam

 

From the Saints Row folks comes this game, which I was told wasn’t good. I waited a bit until it dropped to $6+ and then grabbed a copy. Originally I had no problems with default settings and I had some room to bump some features to high and it still played at a decent frame rate. When I went back to it the next day the game was a stuttering mess, dropped from 40 frames to 1, and it was almost impossible to get it back to default. When I did and started it back up it was the same: 45-50 frames and then drops to 1-10 frames. Pain in the behind! I finally had to drop the resolution one or two steps, turn off some of the swanky features and keep it at default and it works fine…kinda. It does the 1-10 frames drop at the start of the game but after that it works fine. Did I mention pain in the behind?

 

When the game runs its fun. It’s your typical stylized silly characters shooting at the bad guys in futurist Seoul South Korea. The game is presented like a Saturday Morning cartoon where the cut scenes are animated, and each mission is kind of represented like an episode. I’ve played a couple of missions and so far the majority of them are a group of three characters that you can swap during gameplay, and when a new character is introduced they have their own special side episode. Game is easy to play, special moves are silly, and the graphics are bright. I think most of the game will take place in underground levels which can get repetitive, but driving around Seoul is fun to look at and does remind me of Saints Row, and jumping off of buildings reminds me of Crackdown.

 

Dex: Enhanced Version - Steam

 

I bought this yesterday from Fanatical for $1 during their Deal of the Day Promotion. At first it reminded me of Shadow Complex on the 360 that I loved so I gave this game a shot. It’s a side scrolling game where you can explore areas, fight bad guys with simple controls, pick locks, collect and loot items, and other fun stuff

 

You can upgrade your character’s abilities to suit your needs and to access new spots within the game, all while a futuristic store unfolds. Now I played a little bit and my character is in the sewers and they are trying to get back to street level. I am stuck but to be fair I needed to finish up because a TV show I wanted to watch was starting so I wasn’t really paying attention to the environment. I upgraded two abilities and I think I am doing well within the game, I kind of like the story so far, and I like the presentation and that it leaves a small footprint on the hard drive (1GB game)

NBA 2K18 - Steam

I am almost at the All Star Break and the Captains are on a run, and I think 18-1 in the 40 game schedule. Here is what their uniforms look like

 

  

Originally the team had a similar colorway to the 80-90s Dallas Mavericks of Blue, and Green with a little bit of Silver and Black, on the Chicago Bulls jersey design with the diamonds on the sides of the shorts, but after 15 or 16 games with this I changed it to just Blue, Silver, White, and Black with a simplified wordmark and a more modern look to the jersey while keeping the 4 stripes for the Captain Rank (four on the jersey, four on the shorts). I also can’t shake that one set of uniforms always gets orange shoes no matter what the team colors are. It’s a weird graphical glitch in the game.

 

NCAA Football 14 - PS3

I finished my first season with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. They went undefeated and somehow went to the National Title Game against the Fresno State Bulldogs of the Mountain West Conference

 

This is the first time that this happened to me especially with two teams from G5 schools, but somehow all the P5 schools lost one or two games so the MWC and C-USA were in the National Title game where my Bulldogs, beat their Bulldogs by something like 48-6. This would never happen in real life because the talking heads would complain and nitpick everything about both schools and somehow a team from the Big Conference would get in based on perceived better quality wins.

 

At the end of the season I didn’t take any big coaching jobs and instead I am going into season 2 with La Tech. I moved two of the tougher teams from C-USA to the American conference so now it’s La Tech and a bunch of W’s. I want to see if I schedule nothing but cupcakes how good can this team be and will I be able to get top tier recruits.
