Well, I bring sad news. My TV I got for free is Das Kaput. For some reason it came on by itself last night. So being cautious I unplugged it. Now when I turn it on it only stays on for about a second. Now I am on the hunt once again for a CRT TV so I can play my light games and Atari 2600. That is it for now, at least until I find another TV.

It does. I'm sure I will find another one. I'm not out of any money but it is really sad.

I never was dedicated enough to get a CRT for retro-gaming. I know a lot of people don't like how pixelated older games seem to be on HDTVs, but I never noticed as huge a difference as others. I guess I also have memories of my first big-screen TV, which was a 36 inch Toshiba CRT. Moving that TV was a three-man operation. Ugh. Even in pawn shops CRTs are getting tough to find anymore.

Between Arcade Archives, Johnny Turbo, and Namco Museum, however, I have turned my Switch into quite an old-school arcade, albeit one that can also play games like Breath of the Wild and Doom, LOL.

Atari 2600 and the NES look way better on a CRT tv. Also I have light guns, which do not work on these new flat panel tvs.

Aw man. That's the problem with those. The tough part with getting those is you don't know where they've been or what they've been through or what's been living inside them...

Well, good luck on finding another one!

I found another one at a Goodwill type store. It was working there, I got it home and it wasn't. Well there is a no return policy at this place so I'm stuck with a broke TV.

I know. I put all my systems back on the self. I'm so done for right now.

I noticed on Sega Genesis Classics that you can alter the screen resolution and format to simulate a CRT TV. Pretty cool.

Yeah, I saw that too. The draw for me is the light gun games. Also having a little spot where I can show my girls how I grew up playing video games.

That's pretty cool. My sister's family is kind of defensive about video games. They'll play them but under strict controls. I never feel like I can really talk about them. Now, my other sister was a totally different story but her family kind of broke apart a few years ago and now I don't see them. Ah well. Lonliness is my middle name.

Other than my wife and on here I really have no friends to geek out with over video games. But let their kid want a certain game and I’m the first one they come to on advice about content. I’m like, really? You can’t research with Google? lol. I work with a lady and her kids are only allowed two games... TB Xbox one s has only 2% storage usage.
