Quick Hits: Waiting For Amazon Delivery

So a couple of weeks ago I got a Starbucks gift card and I started using it. That lead to my other blog about the “fancy” Egg McMuffin, and a drink that I started to really like, their Cascara Foam Cold Brew. It’s nothing really special, just an ice coffee with some foam, but it is served in a sippy cup and you’re supposed to get some of the foam with the coffee in each sip. I’m one of those weirdos that likes to drink coffee without sugar or cream, but I dig this. Actually I think I just like ice coffee. Anyways after I finish here I’m seriously debating on heading out to grab one…and maybe a “fancy” Egg McMuffin.

Pixlpeeps how are you good people? SummerSlam is a couple of days away and I’m kind of excited for it. I’m looking forward to the actual event but I’m not digging the 7 hours of content. That is a lot of time in front of the TV, but I will probably take a break to grab some lunch so I don’t spend 7 hours on the couch. In other fun stuff I watched I switched from Antarctica YouTube videos back to Alaska videos. There are a couple of videos about life in Fairbanks and Anchorage which are interesting especially since the only Alaska stuff on TV is folks living out in the wilderness. Heck one lady drives around showing the big box stores in the town for folks who are going to move because of the military. Yep these are the random YouTube videos that I watch before bed.

Fun With Excel

I’ve been filling out my various spreadsheet files and for the most part I’ve made some progress. I think I’m almost done with my Lego list, I still haven’t made a dent with the video game list, but this weekend I’m hoping to change that, and my CD list is moving along. Thank goodness for Amazon, Google Play and iTunes keeping track of what I bought, so I can add the digital stuff to that list.

For my Lego list I kept it somewhat simple by having columns Set Number, Set Name, Year, Quantity, Other, and Location

01

Thanks to the good people of Bricklink I can find most of the information just off the set number. The other column is for information like is the set sealed, opened, etc.

02

The Music list is a bit more complicated especially with all the different online retailers I have purchased music from in an addition to the physical stuff. In fact while looking through my Google Play stuff I added a couple new columns. For my setup I have: Artists/Band, Album, Special Edition, CD/DVD, 2+ CD, Other, CD, CD Single, Digital, Mixtape, Audio Cassette, LP, 12”, 45, Amazon, Artist Direct, Google, iTunes, Tidal, and Ripped to iTunes. I have since added Digital Album, and Digital Single.

Yeah I should have made the screen grabs a bit bigger of each sheet.

Fun With iPad 1st Gen

On Monday or was it Tuesday? Anyways when I uploaded my last post earlier this week I went over the games on it. Well here’s a quick tour on how I get books on my repurpose iPad.

03

It’s fitting that my old iPad case is like a leather bound book.

So to add books to my old iPad as well as my other devices for the Kindle app I use the Kindle uploader.

04

It not only sends your books to whichever devices you choose but it also sends a copy to your cloud on Amazon so any future devices can also access these books. Which could be the best reason to use this method instead of just tossing the files on the device’s storage is this

05

It syncs across all devices so I never lose my spot. I was reading on my phone while waiting for the dentist.

Pickups!

Games

Nada.Zip.Zilch.

Music

After the trip to the dentist I went to the local mall and waited 15 minutes before they opened (there’s a lot of people walking around the mall for exercise) and then once it opened I visited the local mom and pop. It’s odd being the first customer in a store.

06

From the Buy 5, get 3 free wall. Just filling holes and starting to pick up more Pearl Jam albums. I also found Velocity Girl’s ¡Sympatico! I had a digital for years but I debated on buying the physical but never got around to it. I’m happy it’s in the library.

From the regular section of CDs I picked up these two

07

I think I paid $11 for both and they replace digitals. It’s a good day for my iTunes.

Other Stuff

Random trip to Walmart and I found

08

09

Finally I found the new Batmobile in the wild. I haven’t opened the other one yet to add to the other opened Batmobiles. The Firebird is just cool looking.

Final pickup I’m patiently (by patiently I mean I’m hitting refresh every 10 seconds on Amazon’s tracking) waiting for

10

I have CDs stacked up in the hallway so it was time to buy a book to place them in. When I saw that I could get free one day shipping if I spend $35 bucks. Since the book was $25 I figured why not get two so I can have enough slots for all the CDs I bought.

I’m also waiting on some socks I bought from Dick’s Sporting Goods Flash Sale my brother told me about. It was 4 pairs for $20 for NBA Socks but the drawback was that the Chicago Bulls socks I had in my cart were ripped from me. Instead I just went ahead and got 2 pair white, and 2 pair black of Jordan All Star Game Socks. Thanks Back to School Sales!

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Have a good weekend!

That’s all for now, more later!

I dig the iced coffees as well. I don't need the heat, just the caffeine and sometimes flavor.

Oh man, you got me thinking about that iced coffee I used to drink. I used to get this cold brew iced coffee from a local shop, not Starbucks, and it reved me up like crazy. Tasted great too. I'm going to have to try what you suggested even though I kind of quit coffee a year or so ago. So good.

That book cover for the iPad is supper cool. And that app that lets you move Amazon books to any device is interesting. At some point, if Barnes & Noble folds - which seems possible but I totally don't want it to go -, I can use that with my Nook, I think.

Oh man, that's a sweet batmobile!

I buy a lot of books from Amazon. More than I can read. But I'm working my way through them as fast as I can!!
