Garage Sale Prep

So last week I found out that the neighborhood is having another neighborhood garage sale and I wanted to participate by selling off my records. Then I figured why stop there so I went into the games closet and picked out games that I really don’t want anymore. Everything from NES all the way up to the current PS4. I couldn’t part with my Vita games because I really don’t have a lot to begin with and I kind of like them. So on the weekend I set out to go through the collection and pull games. Overall I think I trimmed about 50% of the collection and I’m feeling good.

01

At first I figured it would be hard to part with PS, and PS2 games but damn it was a lot easier than I thought. As much as I love those two systems I had no problems getting rid of games that I no longer wanted.

02

This was a must keep game. It is truly terrible but how many people can say they have a VIP game in their collection? I decided to keep all my Madden games because I still want to do custom covers for all the games. Once this was over it was time to price my games. 99% of the games are between $1-5 bucks with a handful going for $7 and $10. I know that the local swapmeet sells games for $8 and above so everything is priced to move.

03

Pricing everything (price stickers, taping, etc.) took the entire day yesterday and this was my plan of attack: For a good chunk of the games I combined them with a sports game. Let’s use a PS3 game like Need For Speed Most Wanted. I priced it at $5 because I think it is a solid game and I figure someone might ask for $3 for it, which isn’t a bad price. I also packaged it with

I figure $5 for 2 games isn’t bad. Sports games like basketball and football I stuck with $3 games so again it softens the blow and hopefully folks will figure the price is solid there’s no need to bargain. I could sell my games for a lot more but it’s a garage sale and many folks that hit these sales don’t have a lot of money so if they can get some entertainment and enjoyment from my old stuff why not. It’s not doing me any good sitting in a closet, and if he helps build someone’s collection a bit everyone wins.

After I finish eating breakfast I am going to go through the records, probably gut 90% of the collection and sell everything but a handful of records for $1. The other stuff will probably be between $3-5. After this I am going to thin out my cap collection and maybe jerseys. I already went through my sneakers and pulled maybe 10 pairs that are ready to go.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off, have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

Man, I wish I could bring myself to part with my physical games; in my defense, I really don't have many (certainly nothing close to your stacks!) so more often these games hold some sentimental value for me.

Hope you make some money and move some product!

I went through a period where if I found a PS/PS2 game that I didn't have I would buy it, and because of that I have a ton of games I really don't care for. I'd rather have games I truly care about/enjoyed than numbers.

Thanks! Hopefully I do make some cash and put it towards a new gaming laptop or maybe something else.

Don't buy ASUS.

You know my little travel laptop is ASUS and that dang thing takes a ton of abuse and works fine. I remember reading about your issues and yeah that's a no go for me. I might stick with Dell, a small Razer, or jump ship to MSI but if I go MSI I'm changing the keyboard colors to just one color. I get folks love RGB keyboards but it seems like it would bother me.

My last ASUS was pretty good for all it took, but this new one still has the same issue after doing everything i was told by customer service.

I would not recommend Dell either though.

A lot of people recommended Hp Spectre to me

I'm currently using a Dell and for the most part it works fine, the only issue I have is with the second graphics card because it just stopped working. Everything else works fine, and easy to upgrade.

I like the Spectre but I want to play games and have space for a second hard drive.

Holly cow, that's some stack of games. Wish I was there to pick some of them up. Records too.

Shoot if you lived closer you as well as folks on Pixlbit would get first crack. I know you guys/gals/little green aliens would get more use and enjoyment out of them.

Yeah thats from years of collecting. At one point I thought the bigger the collection the better, but after ahwile it just takes up space. Hopefully I can move it all.
