What Chris Played Over The Last Couple Of Weeks

It is the second day of the new year and I ventured outside to take the trash out and hot damn it’s cold. Not real cold, but Southern California “cold”. It’s actually warmer today than yesterday where around this time it was 43°, and today it’s 48°. I do love this time of year because the summer it’s over 100°+ and Air Conditioning is your best friend. Anyways since this is the new year and I thought I would catch you up on what I’ve been playing. I started some of my 2019 goals early and one of them was play the games I own. Many of them are on the iPad and a couple are on other handhelds. I will eventually jump into PS4 games (probably after another long system update install) but that’s another topic for another day.

Super Mariokart - Switch: I am almost finished with the second level of races, which I believe is the 100cc class. I have three tournaments left and I keep restarting because I keep getting beat at the finish line. I really want to finish the tournament with all 1st place victories because I think that might unlock something swanky (no idea if it does).

Rocket League - Switch: I actually finished this game the last weekend in December but it is one of the sports games I will go back and play and hopefully get better at. I had two games left in the regular season before moving onto the finals with the Championship game being a laffer winning by three goals. I like this game but I really need to get better at my timing especially with jumps and hitting the ball while it’s in the air.

I also dabbled in a couple of games on my Vita but no real game time. I forgot I had FIght Night on my Vita so I played a bit of that but there might be a couple of games on the system I haven’t finished that I want to play like Assassin’s Creed, Gravity Rush and some random music rhythm game.

Space Marshalls 2 - iOS: I don’t know if I mentioned it but I finished the main story and I am working my way through the DLC with the female hero. It seems like her missions are a lot harder but the mechanics are still fun especially with sneaking around taking bad guys out instead of getting into a gun fight. Some of the missions mirror the main game but there are also new levels sprinkled in so it doesn’t have the feeling of playing the same game but with a female hero.

Halo: Spartan Assault - iOS: This game as well as Spartan Strike live on my iPad so I might as well finish these games. Well first off I forgot my Microsoft password so I couldn’t get my save so I didn’t play it. The next day I remembered my password and then I was off, and I have no idea what is going on. Don’t you hate it when you can’t remember controls for the game? I got towards the end of the level but I had no idea how to use my grenades so eventually character (I am calling Halo Guy) got taken out. The one positive is because of Space Marshalls 2 my sneaking and picking my spots to attack have gotten better and I made it to that point with no problems.

Pocket City - iOS: I am on Level 76, and I can’t get the city population up to the next milestone. It sucks because there is also a shortage of commercial space, but if I take out more industrial, and residential space, the commercial shortage goes down but the other two become deficits. I need to read up on tutorials and tips on the game.

Disney Emoji Blitz - iOS: I saw that one of my friends dropped out of the game. Shame but oh well, it’s not stopping me from playing. I unlocked a new set of emojis that I will probably never use but I am starting on a new group which is all Disneyland themed that I really want and probably never use. As for the actual game I unlocked this guy

01

Holiday Pluto is this year’s special Christmas time emoji. Last year it was Mickey & Minnie. Pluto drops two presents on the screen (this could have gone a completely different way if it wasn’t for Disney) and four lightning clouds appear which take out the row of emojis that they are in. This emoji will replace the old Mickey that I would use for lightning clouds because he is a silver character and Pluto is a gold level character.

The last game I am playing is Shapeuku.

02

Shapeuku is a puzzle game where you have a board made of up a grid and in each row the blue section tells you how many blocks need to be covered in that row.

03

You are given different shapes to accomplish this task and then you move onto harder puzzles.

04

Game is simple enough and there is a lot of trial and error in the later puzzles. I think there are at least 100 puzzles in the game and I am at 27 or so. I go at the current puzzle once or twice a day, trying to figure it out, get frustrated, put it down, and in a hour or two later go back and solve it with ease. Funny how that works.

Anyways that’s enough rambling about games for now. I think this weekend I will jump into my two big Black Friday pickups and finish start playing them on the PS4.

That’s all for now, more later!

Rocket league is fun. I should download that again. I definitely remember needing to get better on defense when I played it, but that's every sport for me. Even in real life, save for rugby and football where all I'm good for is tackles. Great 3 point shooter and volleyball server though. I don't know where I'm going with this but happy New year!

Yay Sports!

I think it comes down to just practice. Speaking of I really should fire up the Switch this weekend.

My favorite game on the Vita is Tearaway.  I liked it so much I got the PS4 version as well.

Tearaway was such a fun game. I'm assuming you use a lot of the touch panel on the PS4.

I had a blast with Rocket League last summer. I just saw they have a Hot Wheels DLC pack out now. I was really tempted to go back to it.

Hot Wheels also released another set of cars. There's a five pack of regular cars with Rocket League designs, and there is a mainline release of a Rocket League car.

I've been playing a bit of Mario Kart too. That game is cool, and looks great. But now I'm diving into Smash.

I've seen that puzzle game before. Interesting.

I like Mariokart but I really need to finish it (unlock all the goodies) so I can have a reason to buy the new Gear.Club racing game.
