So here I am typing on a Friday, getting back into the swing of things. I have a lot to talk about because I haven’t done one of these in a couple of weeks. I probably forgot some things that most likely I will remember once I step away, because that’s how it goes. Anyways let’s get started.

Chris Watches…

-I’ve been watching the series Dark Side of the Ring on Vice, which deals with some of the darker stories in wrestling. It’s interesting because of how it is presented, having interviews of people that were in the industry with sprinkles of bad body doubles that are shadowed. If you like wrestling it is an interesting watch.

-Game Of Thrones is back. I’m rooting for Cersei because good doesn’t always win in this universe. Of course I think at some point Jamie kills her and that’s how it ends. My opinions change daily.

-Since it was Easter, The Ten Commandments was on TV. I love this movie, heck I own yet yet I still watch when it’s on TV. Moses is the ultimate troll and it’s hilarious. Egypt goes through a plague and here comes Moses strolling in and is like “what’s wrong, *casual shrug”. It’s the best.

-I love the NFL Draft. I think I’ve been watching the draft since maybe high school. Most of the later rounds I just have playing in the background while I do something else, but it’s fun to see who gets picked.

Chris Reads…

-I finished Killing Kennedy and man was it rough. I lost it during the descriptions of what Jackie and Secret Service was doing during the shooting. I’m taking a short break until the next book in the Killing series.

-Yeah I had a goal of reading the Avengers stuff on comics before the movie but I didn’t and surprise part of it was spoiled for me. Thanks Twitter.

Chris Listens To…

-I am closing in on finishing my CD ripping project. I want to say I have 700 CDs left and then another 100 or so CD Singles. Of course I’m not helping things by visiting the thrift stores later on today.

-I missed Record Store Day, and I’m ok with it. I love the energy but I’m not buying vinyl anymore.

Pickups

Games

I thought about buying some Lego games during the big Switch sale a week or two ago but passed. However earlier today while I was at a Thrift Store I spot this for .25

01

No booklet but it’s a quarter and something new to play on my Dreamcast.

Music

I bought a new CD thanks to Spotify. Every Friday I check out the New Music tab and I let it play. Well I listen to this album and I’m really digging the track Two More Wishes. Turns out it is a cover but it is still damn good so while roaming around Walmart I picked it up

02

And it comes with a sticker! (the sticker is still in the booklet).

From the thrift store where I spent a total of .75 (I bought these CDs with the game so a whole buck)

03

04

Who doesn’t love Elton John? I love the song Little Jeannie because it reminds me of growing up.

Lego

So I was going to go to the library yesterday but my gut was saying skip it so instead I decide to walk around the local Treasure Hunt. You guys/gals/little green men probably have a store like this but let’s do a quick explanation: This store buys returns from big stores like Target, Macy’s etc. And they discount everything from 50%-90% off. There is usually a funky price tag that has a QR Code along with a four digit code. You look up the code on the signs that are placed on the shelves and it will tell you how much of a discount that will be taken off. Now a lot of the products are opened so it’s like a gamble if it’s complete and they have an All Sales Final rule. Kinda tricky with Lego. Anyways so as I was roaming around I spot five or six Pirates of the Caribbean Silent Mary’s sets for $200 but it was I believe 60% off. Not a bad deal, but I wasn’t interested until I saw this set (here’s the Amazon ad)

05

It was on the floor and nobody cared. I picked it up and the dang thing was sealed.

06

Front of the box looked good, the back of the box had a giant X cut into it, like the person who opened the case of Lego cut into this box. The X was taped and from what I could see everything was still inside. Ok cool, let’s see how many zeroes are behind the number for the price and well…

07

Yeah $50 (FIFTY FREAKING DOLLARS). Oh and the best part was that it was also 60% off. So I picked it up and proceeded to stand in line. The cashiers are slow but they’re not Walmart terrible (close but not quite). I bought that set and this one

08

And it came out to $40. I found that they only gave me 50% off but I wasn’t about to complain.

09

It took me two days to complete Big Ben but yesterday afternoon right as the NFL Draft started but I finished it.

-I think three weeks ago I was at the Thrift Store and I found a plastic bin of Lego, and there was about three or four huge Ziploc bags filled with Harry Potter Lego. I bought the bin for $24 and after looking up the directions online I now have a first gen Harry Potter Hogwarts. It got a good cleaning. Sorry no pictures.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. I have a couple of bins of Lego that I want to sort out this weekend so I might as well start now. Have a good weekend!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Damn, dude. That Big Ben set is a great find! That looks awesome.

I remember those Ready to Rumble boxing games. I think I had a demo or something, but I definitely remember playing some of it.

I want to see the Lego city you've built in your basement.

I really want to try the Ready 2 Rumble series. I have one of them for Wii. Maybe I'll get to it soon.
