It is Saturday morning and I literally just woke up. You would think that since it is the weekend I would sleep in a bit and I kinda did, but it would be nice to wake up a little later than 7:40am but here I am. I guess I should explain why this is being written on Saturday instead of Friday. Let’s get into that.

I was going to write this on Friday morning except I wanted include my opinions on the Saudi Arabia show that the WWE likes to put on every year and over hype the event.

 Chris Watches...

-WWE Saudi Arabia Show - WWE Network: this was a special event that was taking place at 11am Chris’ House in Southern California time (that’s the official time). It was over hyped, calling it first bigger than WrestleMania and eventually being dropped to something like “an event similar to WrestleMania” or something to that effect. There are many glaring problems with this description, the biggest one is that the women are not allowed to perform. Half of your roster that can put on some great matches weren’t even allowed to showcase their talent. Another would be a lot of the wrestlers who like to talk about their stances on social issues have no problems being part of this show. The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase said it best when he said “Everybody’s got a price for the Million Dollar Man.”

The actual wrestling was ok, there wasn’t any crazy moments other than the “epic” meeting between Goldberg and Undertaker where after watching you’d agree that both should retire.

I watched other stuff this past week as well:

-The Last Jedi: It’s ok but it borrows way too much from the trilogy, lots of scenes that were inspired from videos from actual war, and a ton of symbolism. I liked Solo more than this flick.

-I finished Season 1 of Voyager. Actually I didn’t notice until I was ready to jump back into an episode and saw the episode number was Season 2 Episode 3.

-Deadwood (TV Series): I want to watch the movie but I want to understand the story first so I’m watching this show. There is a lot of cussing. A LOT you c**ksucker (this seems to be a favorite of bad guy). The thing that amazes me is that the town is dirty, people look like they haven’t seen water in weeks, but Wild Bill’s long hair looks somewhat shiny.

Getting my streaming account all settled has opened a ton of doors for me when it comes to watching shows online. Oh I want to watch X show, bring up the app and stream it. Heck I watched last week’s epsiode of Billions on Sunday Morning because the app posts it on Saturday at midnight.

Chris Listens To…

I’m listening to my music on iTunes and on my Android Player. This is purely for rating the songs and I sync the Player everyday. So far I filled the 200GB SD Card on a ton of albums and when I get through them, I get rid of the songs I don’t want to carry with me, and add new music. The one thing that is going to suck is that when I free up enough space the syncing of the 2,000+ track of favorites is going to be a brutal. Hopefully most of the songs already live on the device so that will take some of the beating.

Chris Reads…

Guess who cracked open a book? Ok technically guess who hit play on their newest book? This guy. I ripped To Kill A Mockingbird and I am currently listening to it. It is read by Sissy Spacek and once again I kicked up the speed to 1.5x because the regular speed is too slow. I’m used to it so it sounds normal and the only time you can tell is when music starts playing and it sounds like it’s being fast forwarded. I think the last time I read this book I was in Jr High so it will be nice to go back and appreciate it.

Pickups:

Games.

Zip. I saw that XBox and Playstation are having a sale including $2.99 for NBA 2K19. I got excited and checked the Switch Store and yeah it’s still at $60. It’s $20 at Walmart but it would have been nice to get a digital of it for $3.00 and keep another game in the game slot.

Music.

From Amoeba

01

I have the single Funkdafied on a compilation so I happened to look on Amoeba’s website and they had a copy for $3.00 ($3.14 after tax, free shipping) and four days later I got what looks like a CD that hasn’t been played much since 1994.

Here are some CDs I bought from the thrift and library

02

The top two CDs were the pricey ones from the thrift at .50 cents each because their tags were not the color of the day

Jessica Andrews - Now

LeAnn Rimes - Twisted Angel

I've been looking for this Jessica Andrews album for awhile now. I think I am going for a complete LeAnn Rimes studio discography.

The other CDs are from the Library for a whopping .25 each

Glenn Miller - The Missing Chapters Vol. 3

Glenn Miller - The Missing Chapters Vol. 6

Teena Marie - Loverboy: The Teena Marie Story

Sade - The Best Of

Glenn Miller I own Vol 1,2,4,5 so now I need Vol. 7,8. Teena Marie is a compilation album (thanks Discogs), and Sade because it’s the first greatest hits album. I already own the Ultimate but I wanted this one because its the album I always wanted growing up.

At the thrift store where I bought the “pricey” CDs I also bought an audiobook for .50 cents

03

That’s what is currently on my phone.

Toys:

Both from Walmart

04

The VW Squareback is for my uncle who used to own one, and the 57 Chevy is for me because I think it’s cool and its going to live outside of the packaging.

05

Two polybags on clearance for $1.50. I have the original Harry Potter minifigure but the news have the kid legs

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. It is now 8:40 and I need to get ready so I can hit the local mom and pop for some new music and then a nice pretzel and ice coffee. Have a good weekend.

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

This reminds me I've never seen Lawrence of Arabia.

I had no idea you could speed up audiobooks. That's crazy.

My parents have been watching the Deadwood movie. I'll get to it eventually.

I dig Glenn Miller.

Yeah, NBA2k19 is on sale sometimes on switch, but not for $3!!

I saw a sale on Hotwheels at my supermarket the other day and was tempted. I don't need more toys lying around my apartment right now though. I swear, I would hoard toys if I had the money for it, and the space. I want to construct a train layout where all the toys can live. Ha ha.
